hmmm.
It's so sad that despite being so good and popular especially as of late, there are so few active friendly social communities on Matrix (that aren't software projects).
Like, #Discord has thousands upon thousands of little book clubs, language exchanges, friend groups, movie nights, hobby clubs and so on. Anything you want you can immediately find an active little community.
And then the Matrix directories are pretty much dead.
I wanna put my effort where my mouth is, so ...
If I opened a cosy Matrix space for queer folks as a pioneer project, deliberately similar in form and purpose to the many similar Discord servers out there, would you be interested in joining?
Specifically, that'd mean a general-purpose Matrix space, with several rooms such as #general, #pictures, #pets, #hobbies, #bots and so on; and actively used Matrix features such as roles and threads and channels.
If so, please leave a comment or a message. If I find more than an awkwardly small number couple of people are interested, I shall get on it and invite everyone at once.
