• Use a shared #email account via #TOR as a dead drop. Save your email as a draft without sending it in the web interface. Your friend can read and delete this email. Because the email is not sent, no #metadata is created.

Don't just move phishing emails to your spam folder. Make sure to also report scammers to someone who can get them into trouble.

In the UK, you can forward emails to the Suspicious Email Reporting Service: report@phishing.gov.uk. They will analyse the suspect email and take appropriate action.

Quiero recomendar #murena, que como punto intermedio y europeo para quien prefiera configurar su propia E2EE para una dirección de #email que no pone su IMAP tras un muro de pago está bien. Pero también quiero ver qué pasa con el resto de sus servicios asociados, que el año pasado en octubre tuvieron una caída importante durante unas semanas y aunque los esenciales de email ya funcionan otros todavía no.

Probé también #infomaniak y también estoy pendiente de cómo avanza. No todo me convence.

I *really* appreciate your input here. The purpose of this thread is to venture into opportunities to improve traditional email in a way that doesn't suck (as @soatok also states in depth in his blog post that #email for socially working end-to-end confidentiality sucks). It is also not about other tools (like Signal, Bitmessage, Briar, ...).

This is about potential #cryptography for #authenticity or mon-repudiation use cases of email. PGP flavours, S/MIME or something else?

I was wondering ... as #email encryption via PGP/GnuPG is not suitable for true and ongoing end-to-end confidentiality. But what about authenticity of mails? I dislike S/MIME for its corporate nature, and #PGP via PGP/MIME is well enough supported by many (free) mail clients.

What's the #cryptography or #security community's view on PGP for signing emails? Or what would a suitable alternative be? I haven't come across any, though.

Das, was DeltaChat so großartig macht, ist die Nutzung der dezentrale eMail-Server-Landschaft für den Nachrichten-Transport. Die eMail-Server zu stören oder lahmzulegen ist bei der überragenden Bedeutung von eMail für Wirtschaft, Staat und Wissenschaft undenkbar.

Ende-zu-Ende verschlüsselt ist das auch noch. Wenn Chatkontrolle kommen sollte, werden dezentrale Nachrichten-Systeme mit E2E-Verschlüsselung die letzten nicht überwachbaren Nischen sein.

Hatte ich in der näheren Vergangenheit erwähnt, wie cool ich Delta Chat finde? Nicht? Dann wird es aber Zeit! Was ich bis jetzt gesehen und getestet habe ist wirklich gut. Und das Beste daran: Ihr braucht nichts außer einer E-Mailadresse (und mit Chatmail noch nicht mal unbedingt das), um sofort sicher, schnell und zuverlässig chatten zu können! 3.) Kann es sein das im Docker Image von Friendica, der Friendica Worker nicht eingerichtet ist. Beispielsweise als Service in der systemd
