Which one do you use?
Fucking "app culture" drives me crazy. I got asked to install a mobile app just to look at the itinerary and accommodation information for a trip I'm going on.
Why isn't it just a web page?
So obviously I said "fuck that noise, hold my beer", reverse-engineered the app, and re-implemented it as a web page generator. It does all the same things as the "app" except now there's no tracking, no ads, and you get all the Web's features "for free" (deep links, copy-pasting, search-in-page, printing, works on anything, etc.).

also the tuning phase for this one has been quite long. metaphor and colours are in place, but sometimes the fiddling seems endless to get things just right.

Die Geschichte des "APBoard – Another PHP Board" begann in 1999, als Christins erstes großes PHP-Projekt. Damals noch unter dem Nick dma147, mit einer PHP3-Funktionsreferenz als einzigem Hilfsmittel. Es entstand nach dem Trial&Error Verfahren ohne jegliche Vorkenntnisse und wurde innerhalb von nur wenigen Wochen zu einem der beliebtesten Forensysteme der damaligen Zeit. Das Forum wurde tausendfach heruntergeladen und hatte eine Community von vielen Zig-Tausend Menschen.
APBoard v3 ist der vollständige Neuaufbau ab Juni 2023. Gleiche Seele, moderner Kern. GPL-3.0, PHP 8.5, Twig, Docker – und ein Sicherheitsstandard, der sich nicht hinter kommerziellen Produkten verstecken muss.
