@murena et tous les utilisateur.ice.s d'un /e/os : je suis à l'étranger (Portugal), et mon forfait orange est censé fonctionner. D'ailleurs il fonctionne à moitié, et je peux appeler et recevoir des appels, et envoyer/recevoir des textos. Par contre, je n'ai pas accès au reste comme Signal, Whatsapp,... et il y a un "R" majuscule à côté du petit logo en haut à droite.

Y'a-t'il une option à activer quelque part et que je n'aurai pas trouvée ?

Ich vermisse eine Kooperation mit #shiftPhone, #fairphone, #murena etc.

Ein einzelner Anbieter als Alternative ist wieder eine Sackgasse auf Zeit.

Aber es ist eigentlich gänzlich der falsche Weg.

So Google plans to lock down Android by only allowing to install apps from their walled garden (Play Store) and prevent installing apps from other sources (aka "sideloading").

If I understand this correctly, @murena already offers apps through their own app store in /e/os.

Does anyone know if they will be able to do this in the future, now that Google is turning completely to the dark side?

Mass data collection is increasingly being used to find & identify individuals 👇

Interesting question for the @fdroidorg and @murena communities: Why is my favourite weather app #BreezyWeather available in the official #Fdroid repository but cannot be found via #Murena's #AppLounge which usually provides access to that as well?

Am I misunderstanding something here?

Es gäbe das #shiftphone8 von #murena mit //e// und #IodeOS das ich gerade nutze. Nachträglich kann man auf ein shiftphone auch alle selbst aufspielen.

Zusätzlich gibt es noch #postmarketOS das man auch selber drauf spielen kann.

Alternativ gibt es noch das #ShiftOSLight ohne Google, aber nicht ganz Google frei.

Achso, bei @shiftphones bleibt die Garantie davon unbeeinträchtigt erhalten.

On the linked page, I found that Fairphone 4 and 5 are supported for upgrade, but no mention of Fairphone 6. Did someone forget this model, or is there no way for me to get that on to my phone?

Weiß jemand, weshalb die Ikea Smart Home App unter #eOS nicht funktioniert? Ich komme bei der Ersteinrichtung bis zu dem Punkt, an dem ich Cookies akzeptieren oder ablehnen kann. Danach gibt es sie vielsagende Meldung "Leider ist ein Fehler aufgetreten". Mehr geht nicht.

Die Privacy Funktionen hatte ich schon testweise aus und über 5G habe ich es auch probiert. Half alles nichts.

I need a new phone and I want to distance myself from Google services. Hence I am considering a Fairphone 6 running the #Murena /e/OS operating system. My one concern is that it may not play nicely with the RBS banking app. Has anyone any experience of the OS, in particular running the RBS banking app?

I did read these articles directly when released, i know and respect Mike #kuketz work, tips and opinions, and i followed the beef you have (had) with for example the commercial idea of #murena and #iodé.
Not everything is perfect in our surrounding, everywhere you can found negative points.
Maybe the slow security patches, maybe the singular using of googles pixel-hardware.
I do not use #graphene actually, because i want a fair-built smartphone, repairable, european-distributed...

Wir haben sowohl #iodé als auch #eos in Einsatz und Vergleich, teils selber installiert, meist aber anstandshalber fertig gekauft.
Ich würde mittlerweile deutlich zum #murena-e/OS ( auf einem #Fairphone ) raten, iodé habe ich trotz meiner intensiven Beschäftigung mit dem System nie ganz verstanden.

Die e/os- Fairphones gibts mittlerweile auch bei Fairphone direkt im shop, und es findet sich auch immer einer der #FairphoneAngels , die bei Fragen gerne weiterhelfen...

Auf der Seite von Shiftphone habe ich von beiden gelesen, dass sie scheinbar alltagstauglicher sein sollen als direkt der Wechsel zu Linux.
Die Googlefreie Shift-Version "ShiftOS L" hingegen erfordere technikaffineres Know-how. Was ich schade finde, da ich das äußerst interessant finde.

Freue mich über Erfahrungen!

If you use a vpn it give you the weather corresponding to the ip address of the vpn server.

Use a browser ( clear caches and cookies ) .
If you use e/os , use a fake location but the real ip address
Go to ChatGPT.com by the browser
Ask the question : what is the weather ( only these words)
ChatGPT will give you the weather corresponding to your ip address

If you ask how it knows the location, it answers with luck , hallucination, guess based on previous questions (which don’t exist ) , …

My Murena|e/OS|Fairphone6 has a critical Modem bug: network MMI cmds -- e.g. CallForwarding -- fail. On other phone h/w, same SIM, MMI works fine.

2 wks later, I'm in a support loop.
Murena ACKs the detailed bug; it's a known issue.
They say it's Fairphone issue (closed Modem code blob).
Fairphone support is silent.
Qualcomm only talks to customers (Fairphone).

Basic function is broken & no progress so far on a fix.

Nach fast 20 Jahren exzessiver #iosNutzung war die letzte Woche nicht ganz einfach. Aber selbst das kontaktlose Bezahlen mit #curvepay funktioniert nun.
Leute, es geht! Ja, der Umstieg ist kein Selbstläufer, aber insbesondere im Zusammenspiel mit #nextcloud unkomplizierter als befürchtet.
Meine persönlich letzte Baustelle ist Carplay ohne Google. Aber das wird auch.

Veo críticas a los teléfonos vendidos por Murena. Una de las quejas es que se supone que obligan a tener una cuenta de Murena asociada al teléfono, la cual te da acceso a una nube para alojar archivos, correo, etc. Como se hace con la cuenta de Google.

Pero no es obligatorio iniciar sesión al encender el teléfono. Asi evitas usar una cuenta de Murena si no quieres.
