Step in Time for #spookysaturday

When I was a kid I was loaned a book by a family friend. In it were all things paranormal and I remember being fascinated with the ghost photos. The one that scared me the most was 'The Spectre of Newby Church', still is a bit unsettling to be honest. So, this photo is a little bit of a love-letter to the paranormal and to Jack, who loaned me the book. He's no longer with us but his memory lives on. ♥️ (And it wasn't spontaneous combustion as the book would have led me to believe, I really thought adults were going up in flames left right and centre all over the shop) ✨

Large Banyan Trees create a beautiful arched canopy as they line up on each side of the rain slicked road of Almeria Ave located in Coral Gables, Miami.
This black and white photograph captures the beauty of the architectural detail of Coconut Grove's Plymouth Congregational church as vines cover and climb the bell tower and front portion. The church was modeled after the old Spanish missions of Mexico. It marked it's 100 anniversary in 2017. Amazingly the original sanctuary was built by one man, Felix Rebom, and his assistant using nothing more than a hatchet, a trowel, a plumb line and a T-square!

In this black and white photo one can see the Lighthouse is a little weathered from Hurricane Ian but it still stands watch. I did take the liberty of fixing one of the missing shutters so that it appear whole. Built in 1890 the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse was used to safely guide ships into the Charlotte Harbor. The lighthouse is an iron screw pile design with a wood frame. When lit it is visible from up to 12 miles away. We are all feeling the pinch these days, as times are tight and prices climb. I woke up yesterday morning to rare, foggy conditions here in northeast New Mexico. Some well-structured fog was hanging out down in the canyons.
