Stoneman Bridge in Yosemite Valley is a popular spot for photographers and painters alike. Looking up to the Northeast the Merced River flows down from Happy Isle and crosses in Front of Half Dome. To the south you can follow the river down along the eastern walls of the valley.
From this point of view as can be seen here, El Capitan stands in all its glory rising 3,000 feet above the valley floor. The gray granite seems to dominate the valley floor and from this perspective it does. But the river that cuts through the valley will lead you to many other places that try to also compete.

Shot on my very old Sony NEX 5N about 15 years ago, my first "serious" camera. This was exactly the shot I was looking for when I took my tripod through the French Quarter while visiting. Was pretty happy given my lack of real knowledge and equipment!

We got to see these mysterious creatures up close and personal. Watching them move seemed to calm my vagus nerve. Peaceful....They are mostly in the rivers, but sometimes they show up at the beach!
