It was an absolutely perfect day for finding a spot to lie down in the grass and look up at the clouds. Because there in the sky, for brief moments, there were dragons and kittens, castles and schooners, flying horses and dancing trees.

Up, and up, and up -- the ancient steps of Ostuni, the hilltop city in Apulia, Italy, aren't steep, but they are relentless.

But as neither my wife nor I was in the mood to imitate Rocky Balboa and run up the steps, we enjoyed a gentle hike past cacti and cats, all of us appreciating any shade from the Mediterranean sun.

Painted Hand Pueblo (c. 1150 to 1300 CE), Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, Colorado. I really love this view with Wisuv Káruv (Sleeping Ute Mountain) in the background. See the Ute chief lying on his back with arms folded across his chest? He's kinda got a big nose! The nice thing is I'm an easy drive to this location now so I'll be able to pick my days to photograph it.
