And whaddya know it's raining! But that's after I made it through to hotel after 2 train changes, & Shin-Osaka station. Was able to drop off my backpack again and ask to keep a package in the fridge - like yesterday. Also seems like I packed sensibly, had a small bag to take my computer along and have my rain jacket too - goes nice with my all black outfit for afternoon seminar presentation (but please don't look down at my hiking boots). Expeditious not great lunch done too! #ProfLife #Travel

When we first start to do something, anything, we're not very good at it, and yet for some reason we're expected to be -- either the pressure we put on ourselves or that which our society constantly exerts upon us.
But to do something, anything, well, it takes time, practice, study, patience, and incredible amounts of determination.
"Venice is crowded," people warned them, as if they didn't know.
"True," they replied."But crowds are funny things -- they stay clustered in the same spots, go to where they're told to go, don't take time to seek alternatives.
"We plan to walk off and away to a quieter spot, get away from the crowds, experience the city in our own way."
We got to see these mysterious creatures up close and personal. Watching them move seemed to calm my vagus nerve. Peaceful....They are mostly in the rivers, but sometimes they show up at the beach!
