Request for a good #lawyer, ideally with expertise in #custody and marriage laws in #Spain as well as wellfare law in #Germany.

A female friend (German citizen) of mine lives in Spain in a broken marriage with a young child. She wants to leave her husband and go back to Germany with her child. Problem is she doesn’t currently have any income of her own, but at least a depression, if not other health issues, so doubtful whether she can support herself and her child financially on her own. The shared finances in the marriage are muddled.

The separation discussion has not yet reached a stage where things are only discussed in court, but she definitely needs some advice what her rights are and what agreements she can and can‘t make to be eligible for social benefits in Germany.

Any recommendations?

Made time today to walk up & down hills & stairs to get to this old carob tree growing in a roundabout near the Basilica Begoña. This has to be at least a couple hundred years old.

It's very rainy in Bilbao so it is not the ideal environment for Ceratonia siliqua, yet this one survives, albeit hollow and with many fungi on it. And it's either female or hermaphrodite because it is bearing young pods. #Bilbao #Spain #Espana #Carob #Algarrobo

I caught them mid-chant on one of the streets near the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The man on the left had gone full traditional, with woven manta draped over his shoulders, loaded with pompoms and bandana tied tight while his friend had hedged his bets with a clear plastic poncho over the waistcoat. His Amstel was probably warm but he didn’t care. Valencia in March is meant to be about fire and gunpowder, and the rain didn’t stop the festivities.

Torre Ladrones, or “Thieves’ Tower,” is a striking historical landmark along Marbella’s coastline. Built for coastal defence, it was part of a network of towers used to detect enemy ships and communicate with nearby settlements. Now, it's a protected historical monument.
