We went for a seaside ramble this afternoon which was lovely and quiet and windy with changeable weather. I took a silly amount of photos and somehow didn't particularly like any of them. Because that's how it's been lately. Then on the drive home I saw the sky was changing colours as we passed Criccieth so we pulled over and I managed to get one that I was happy with. Here ya go.

Sorry for the repost but the image was just a blur for me! Could other people see it? Was that just me? Am I losing it? 😅

A wee bit later than usual today. Just got back from a double feature: Other Mommy (fast paced and fun but the book was better) and The Craft (classic 90s nonsense... "We are the weirdos, mister.") But just about managed to hop across the way from the cinema beforehand to squeeze in a couple of shots for today's 365 challenge. Edited in the car on the way home. Et voilà!

Southsea Castle, built in a style to take gun warfare into consideration and to defend Portsmouth from French invasion threats under the direction of Henry VIII in 1544. That attack came a year later when the French landed on the Isle of Wight. It's said that Henry was here and watching when the flagship Mary Rose sailed out to meet the attack and sank. The wreck was recovered in 1982 and can be viewed in the dockyard.

Cēsis Castle.

Cēsis Castle, previousle called Wenden Castle, was the political seat and military headquarters of the leaders of Livonian Order - a crusader state that was the largest and most influential entity within the Livonian Confederation.
The Confederation comprised modern Latvia and Estonia, existed in the 15th-16th centuries, and fell to the Russian invasion under the tsar Ivan IV the Terrible in 1558-1561. Poland and Sweden then intervened, defeated Russia after a long war, and divided Livonian lands between themselves.
