These days there are plenty of dramatic stories about tourists who barely escaped the wildfires in France, Spain, and all the other places that are burning.
When I read those stories I get a bit worked up.
Yes, I guess it sucks for those tourists that their holiday was interrupted and it probably wasn't a pleasant experience, but why are they even there?
Then there is the "trauma" of those tourists that is apparently more newsworthy than the actual loss of life, property, and possessions of the people who actually live there.
Also. Have you heard anything about Africa burning? Chance are you haven't, or at least not much. Yes, it too is burning (check out: firemap.live/), but apparently only wildfires occurring in Europe or North-America are interesting enough to make the news.
