Nope. I'm blocking a bar I don't like. The people visiting the bar are mostly fine. I just don't want to meet them in that bar.
I am more than happy to meet most of these people in another bar. For example via one of the thousands of #Mastodon servers.
And yes, this is the issue with a service where the ethics framework is decided by a handful of people. Eurosky etc. will have the same issue.

*I've got rid of Twitter/X because it became a bad actor. As Twitter started Bluesky I never joined and ignored the #Fediverse #bridge.
The past weeks I received abusive comments & blocked individual brid.gy accounts after finding reporting doesn't work.
Reading up on it, it seems Bluesky moderation policies are not how I look at the world. Reading this article strengthened that feeling:

ich habe vorgestern den Vortrag zur Digitalen Unabhängigkeit von Prof. Dr. Podszun auf dem Neujahrsempfang der Rektorin gehört und stimme den Thesen zu, dass wir uns unabhängiger von der #bigtech aus Amerika machen müssen.
Aus meiner Sicht hat die Universität nicht nur die Verantwortung viele Kanäle zu bespielen, sondern auch die Vor- und Nachteile dieser zu nennen und seinen Followern klar zu machen.
Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr in diesem Kontext diesen Account wieder beleben würdet und nicht nur die Bridge über @hhu.de nutzt.

Hello everyone, I want to celebrate a year on Pixelfed. A year with all kinds of uitdagingen. I came from Instagram, but was looking for an app that isn't so pushy. That's what I found here. So I can proudly say that I'm here to stay and keep posting all new material. For this year I've even got some greater plans. I will share it with you, so keep my account in focus, to find out what it will be.
I want to thank all the people who take a moment to view my photos, put some positive comment with it, and who are following me. This I really appreciate!

Ich verstehe deine Hin- und Hergerissenheit zum Thema #BlueSky. Im Grunde ist es wünschenswert, dass es Plattformen gibt, auf dem alle gemeinsam kommunizieren können. Schlecht ist es, wenn es Plattformen gibt, die bestimmte Inhalte, die mit unserem Grundgesetz nicht zu vereinbaren sind durch ein Algorithmus bevorzugt behandelt werden.

if you to get a clue on the lowest, most basic level of this stuff, no matter if you are just a recreational systems thinker or an whole ass applied systems engineer (maybe especially then), you should read meadows primer on how this stuff _actually_ works.

From the perspective of the fedi, both #bluesky and #threads are like HUGE FEDI SERVERS. this makes disconnecting from them tough because you're giving up the connection (imperfect as it is) to a lot of people. I don't recommend it.
But their size also makes moderation difficult. if they had lots of users who harassed us here, moderating all that would be impossible and I would recommend disconnecting.
It's all just constant reminders of why real decentralization matters.
Oh here it is. Not required for #Mastodon but doesn't hurt. Just block the bot to prevent/disable bridging:

Does the #nobridge tag work? I couldn't find any documentation right away. I think if you put it in your profile, it's supposed to prevent bridging of your account to other platforms like #Bluesky. Or maybe it's more human-oriented, as a request to other users.
I set it in my profile(s) and also blocked the bridging bot & the whole bsky.brid.gy domain. I'm not sure if the tag helps or matters.
An important PSA for people who are active on #Bluesky and who, upon hearing that the ICE account was officially verified, are saying: "I will just block it."
Blocking on Bluesky is NOT PRIVATE: it's very easy to see who is blocking any account by visiting sites that list that information.
I took a screenshot from clearsky.app, listing all the accounts that are blocking ICE (I pixelated avatars and usernames for privacy purposes).
The safest bet is to mute (that info is private) 😫
Bluesky Corporation have just started hosting and verified the US agency ICE:

In other words, Bluesky are collaborating with racist violent thugs and murderers.

This is an important point.
#Bluesky's default feed is an algorithmic feed. Meaning that their algorithm manipulates what you and importantly other users see. So, they are not neutral. As such, trust becomes important. And who they welcome onto their network is a big factor in establishing trust, or lack thereof.
