In a small recess in tree bark, there are six stalks with bulbous ends. The bulbs are smooth and shiny. The stalks are spore-bearing parts of a slime-mould.

This interesting pattern of mini “landslides” of sand was prevalent along the ridge of the sand dune that I hiked earlier this week. This is a view from the ridge of the dune looking straight down the steep incline. “Streams” of sand would begin flowing down the slope once a hiker disturbed the sand while walking on the ridge. #TextureTuesday #nature #photography
