Among the Branches

I saw this northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) one day, flittering through the branches of our crepe myrtle trees. Their silhouette is easy to pick out from a distance — the long tail helps, and they’re noticeably larger than the finches and sparrows. My wife used to hear them pecking at the window in the mornings and thought they were reminding us to put bird seed out.

If you’re captivated by cardinals and other members of the Cardinalidae family—better known as the cardinal family—step into my photo gallery for a visual feast. Come take a look:

Hilltop Plover

I saw this killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) perched on a hilltop overlooking a lake in Texas.

Step into a world where even the smallest moments—like the glint in a bird's eye—tell their own story.

Tufted Titmouse, A Crest Above the Rest

One afternoon, while sitting in the backyard with my dog Charlie, I spotted a Tufted Titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) perched nearby.

Tufted titmice are a favorite among a select group of bird enthusiasts. To celebrate these charming creatures, I’ve curated a special collection dedicated entirely to them in my photo gallery. Take a look!
