In this black and white photo one can see the Lighthouse is a little weathered from Hurricane Ian but it still stands watch. I did take the liberty of fixing one of the missing shutters so that it appear whole. Built in 1890 the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse was used to safely guide ships into the Charlotte Harbor. The lighthouse is an iron screw pile design with a wood frame. When lit it is visible from up to 12 miles away. We are all feeling the pinch these days, as times are tight and prices climb. We are at the seaside. In the foreground is a flat concrete bench. It is illuminated by the sunlight, which gives the concrete a warmer appearance. The sea can be seen beneath the bench and, of course, behind it. It is high tide.
