Many people, unfortunately, do not read legal documentation. It has become human nature to simply click "OK, I agree".

If more folks did read their terms of services, you would know word-based domain name extensions are not managed the same way as normal with the protection of ICANN.

As it stands now, if Donald Trump really lost his mind, he could shut down much of the Fediverse.

One of the most overlooked but useful features on Mastodon is "Notes". These let you add private info to profiles which only you can see:

A lot of people use notes for keeping track of why they blocked or muted someone, but there are also lots of other purposes.

Notes can be created on the web interface and some third party apps. Just click on the "Add note" section of a profile and type what you want.

to clarify this some more:

I said #Twitter is a #disinformation platform that can't be trusted

that doesn't mean that every account there is lying

but "because someone on twitter said so" is a non-argument for me

if the info of that "someone" proves to be correct I'm adjusting my opinion, twitter or not

if disinformation is spread on #Mastodon it is still disinformation & will be called out eventually

by a community

whereas in twitter there's a lying AI

Abrí mi primera cuenta en masto.social o estos servidores enormes, luego cuenta en el servidor cuyo nombre me pareció chistoso 🤣 y luego terminé aquí. Asi que puedes abrir una cuenta en donde quieras, y si no te sientes agusto puedes migrar tus seguidores y seguidos fácilmente

wie was z.B. ? In der Presse wird nunmal Mastodon, das ich im prinzip gut und wichtig finde, als eine der besten alternativen zu twitter gehypt . Und alternativen sind rar, besonders solche die nicht USA zentriert sind.

Andere Frage,darf man #mastodon kritisieren oder ist das ein Angriff auf ne heilige Kuh der man nur zu huldigen hat?

Statt vielleicht ständig neue Serverprojekte für verschiedene Fediversedienste zu bauen wäre es vielleicht einfacher Clients zu machen, die einfach jeweils nen anderen Schwerpunkt haben?

Und bei Servern vielleicht lieber zwischen Multimedia und Kurznachrichtendienst/Statusnachrichten unterscheiden?
erstere brauchen mehr Bumms und Medienwandler, letzter nicht unbedingt.
