Ich habe mich gerade zum soundsovielsten Mal gefragt, warum WordPress immer noch zum großen Teil auf eX-Twitter stattfindet.
Es gibt das ActivityPub-Plugin, viele WP-Leute haben einen mehr oder weniger genutzten Mastodon-Account und WordPress ist hier auch "offiziell" irgendwo vertreten, aber soweit ich weiß gibt es keine offizielle WordPress-Instanz.

Die #downtime von #linuxnews lag im Jahr 2025 bei ca. 12 Minuten, gemessen an der Frontpage, was #tier3 entspricht.
Das erreichen wir mit einem 56€ Root Server, Pluginversuchtem #wordpress was blöd skaliert und viel #kaffee.
Mir fehlt jegliches Verständnis dafür warum sowas teilweise Konzerne oder Verlagshäuser nicht hinbekommen, mit #cdn, Load Balancern, #highavaibality und was weiß ich nicht für einem Käse.
Es muss nicht immer teuer sein wenn die Architektur stimmt.

Yesterday I watched a WordPress plugin bounce between creators like it was competing in some kind of WordPress relay race. Idea, prototype, remix, accessibility audit, polished final version.
not only does setting up #Mastodon and properly #SelfHosting it takes quite a lot of resources and time, it's neither easy nor fast to setup either.
I remember @fuchsiii swearing amidst the #JankWare that is Mastodon, because it makes #WordPress look like 30+ years enterprise-grade minimalist #Unix code by comparison.
- Add to that the cost and complexity: Mastodon isn't a simple #XAMPP-esque application any #WebHoster supports, but needs like a rootful #VPS (with decent #IOPS if one wants to host more than a single user and doesn't flush caches daily!)...
But for #Omar, #Sanders and #AOC, these ain't valid excuses as they have paid full time staff on retainer to do their #SocialMedia and compared to the #AntisocialMedia / #MainstreamSocialMedia, the #Fediverse is way less painful and has way more granular and effective #moderation #tools built-in than even paid tools (i.e. #HootSuite) and paid #API|s ever offered on #Shitter!
Self-hosted #WordPress help needed. Boosts appreciated.
I host three WordPress sites at Hostinger, which I chose because it's cheap and it meets my needs. I have the lowest level plan that gives me unlimited email addresses. My sites are currently averaging a total of fewer than 500 hits per day. I don't host much in the way of media; I downsize all my images before I upload them and don't host Audio or video. (1/4)

tl;dr:
* Activating WP_DEBUG mode allowed me to get PHP stacktraces in the HTML.
* It was due to a plugin compatibility issue; moving its directory out of the way to disable it fixed the issue.

I updated the pagination on my Wordrpess sketchbook to show just one post per page. That way each page becomes a sketch number, I really like that. I usually post a sinlge image (drawing/painting) with a little text.

Yeah, that's always a possibility. The mobile view of the #Wordpress editor is just very crowded and unwieldy, something I would have liked to avoid for simple tasks like posts that consist of just an image and two lines of text. 😀
Currently testing the #Wordpress app for #Android, looking for a self-hosted way to share some of my photography while on the go:
When uploading media while creating a new post, adding alt text is not possible.
Editing the media file afterwards, alt text is not properly saved/updated.
After adding alt text to the media file via the web interface, this alt text is not immediately used in the image as used in the post created in step 1.
This seems harder than it should be. 🙁

Eine Wordpress-Kundin will, dass alle internen Links (die sich bisher in neuen Tabs geöffnet haben,) neu im bereits offenen Tab öffnen. Aber da es viele sind, hoffe ich, dass es dafür ein Plugin gibt. Ich meine, ich hätte sowas sogar schon mal genutzt, früher, erinnere mich aber nicht mehr.
Plugins, die in target_blank verwandeln, gibt es zuhauf. Aber umgekehrt?
