Many people, unfortunately, do not read legal documentation. It has become human nature to simply click "OK, I agree".
If more folks did read their terms of services, you would know word-based domain name extensions are not managed the same way as normal with the protection of ICANN.
As it stands now, if Donald Trump really lost his mind, he could shut down much of the Fediverse.

Some WordPress numbers from my blog... 
I've had my WordPress blog since December 14th 2019. I've been sharing a lot since. The total counter says I've posted 1918 posts so far. Some were re-blogs of posts that friends shared that I enjoyed a lot. But many were/are mine.
And yesterday, I got this streak milestone. I shared posts 1750 days in a row! That's 250 weeks... Or ±57½ months... Or ±4,8 years... Which gets is to about 4 years and 9 months...
I've started the blog 1935 days ago... So yeah, it's been a while of contiguous posting since! 😁
Anywhoo... I still have several posts ready to be shared. But I will need to finish the journal post this night, as that needs to go live at 7.

Sigo sin poder usar las app de #mastodon para controlar e interactuar desde @curiosabiologia. El sitio alvarobayon.com está en #wordpress, tiene activado el plugin #activityPub y he instalado el “enable mastodon app” (EMA)
Esta semana he intentado cacharrear un poco más, desactivando todos los plugin salvo los dos necesarios. Y nada.
¿Alguien tiene alguna idea antes de intentar preguntar en el foro del EMA?
Una de las cosas que más me sacaba de quicio en mi blog en #WordPress era que, por mucho que evitase usar #cookies, al final Google siempre lo rastreaba todo por tener vídeos de YouTube incrustados.
El bendito plugin WP YouTube Lyte evita eso y sin ningún quebradero de cabeza, pues los vídeos insertados con el widget de YouTube se convierten automáticamente. Y desde el punto de vista del usuario diría que es imperceptible también.

1. Mi idea es montar un #blog (¿Reborn Curiosa Biologia?) en el #wordpress donde ir subiendo los artículos que salen en público en #Patreon, y si se tercia, las actualizaciones que salen en Telegram. Ir publicando allí todo lo que voy haciendo.
Pero mi única experiencia con blog es Blogspot, y es de hace milenios, de cuando los blogs se esculpían en tablillas de arcilla, más o menos. ¿Es cosa fácil? ¿Qué complicaciones puedo encontrarme?

Was mache ich falsch?
I've been working with #WordPress for about a year now and the thing that has surprised me the most is that I actually like #PHP. I didn't know much about it, but had seen a lot of bashing it over the years. It's been dead-easy to learn though, and has a surprising number of modern features, like typing, named function parameters, match expressions, etc.
I wish I could say the same for #WordPress, which feels like it's barely holding itself together.
Meta has banned mentions of Linux on their platform—despite, you know, Facebook’s product depending on Linux.
This is a good time to encourage #Linux devs and users to set up communities on #NodeBB, #Mbin, #Lemmy, #Friendica, #Discourse, and #WordPress.
And enable #ActivityPub for greater visibility.

¿Qué elegiríais? Mi instinto me sigue diciendo de migrar a un #SSG como Hugo, pero no quiero que mi blog se convierta en otra tarea más ni en algo complicado de mantener, sino poder centrarme en escribir.
Puntos extra si es algo PHP+MySQL, que no me apetece migrar de hosting.
We make good use of Mastodon’s interoperability with WordPress. When we recently moved our Vivaldi Tips (@tips) blog from vivaldi.net to vivaldi.com to start translating the tips, we noticed that things were a little off on the Mastodon side. Luckily we have the amazing @thomasp in our team, who ironed out every single issue we found.
One of the problems we had was the ActivityPub plugin not detecting the language tags our translation plugin (WPML) added to the posts on WordPress. Language tags allow people on Mastodon to subscribe to posts only in the languages they can read and use the translation feature, so this was an important issue for us to solve. Mein WordPress Account im Fediverse wird in 2025 tatsächlich schon 10 Jahre alt.
Angelegt habe ich ihn, weil meine Nodes vor 10-12 Jahren noch eine Halbwertzeit von 6-12 Monaten hatten ;) Häufig sind sie gestorben, weil ich einfach keine Ahnung hatte, wie ich einen Fehler beheben konnte (Lernkurve).
Da war und ist es gut, wenn ich alle meine Posts irgendwohin verschieben kann und so eine Art Archiv erzeuge. Möglich war das durch ein Friendica Addon, mit dem alle Fediverse Beiträge auch auf ein WordPress gespiegelt werden. Das hat so gut funktioniert, dass ich die Funktion über die Jahre hinweg beibehalten habe.
Damals vor 10 Jahren (konkret am 09. Mai 2015) habe ich Föderation auf dem WordPress aktiviert. Danke an @Matthias Pfefferle und das Friendica Addon-Team, die das ermöglicht haben.

Se supone que debería ser sencillo pero no me funciona y recibo un error de “no se puede acceder al punto de enlace WebFinger” que me está volviendo loco.

What if Jory wasn't "approved"? Does the plugin go to a MM loyalist? (EDIT: There's a process later in the thread)
How was Jory deemed "OK"?
2. 10:59AM today - The Pods plugin itself was taken away from Jory (long time Pods contributor who I requested it transferred to) pending getting this approval (after the fact).
3. Matt or whoever decides it's actually fine.
4. 2:15PM today - Plugin is transferred back to Jory
OK so here's what happened today:
1. Someone on the plugins team saw Pods was transferred from a banned account (mine).

And now my WordPress.org Slack account has been deactivated, assuming that was part of the syncing of .org disabled accounts to deactivating WP Slack accounts. But still, that truly made the cut deeper and more official in my eyes.
Nothing is safe here, unsure if his account will be locked or if Pods will be closed.
This was an attack not just on me but also on the Pods project as it means we can't do releases. I have suspected this could happen since the WPE team was locked out of .org so I've already gotten consent from a long time Pods contributor for them to take over the .org listing.
Now that I have been locked out of .org officially, I made a formal request to transfer ownership of the Pods plugins into their control so that we can continue our normal release processes.
Today my WordPress.org account was disabled unexpectedly. I did not request that and I have received no communications with reasoning ahead of time or at the time of that being disabled (like most people who were deactivated on Slack or .org disabled).
This puts the @pods project at risk on .org since we've used the security best-practice of having release confirmations enabled on the Pods plugins on .org since they added that feature. To confirm a release, you must log into .org
