#OSM - like #Wikipedia - uses the top level domain .org. this top level domain is organized by a private company in the USA. #Trump only needs to say a single word and the org registrar will communicate to OSM that it is lake america and gulf of america or otherwise the domain will be forcefully transfered to googlemaps. As of now Trump still believes tolls are the most powerful tool at his hands. After the midterm elections he may reconsider his options.

Mein Tool hat Wikipedia-Edits über eine IP-Adresse gefunden, die zu Nestlé Deutschland führt.
Über ein Nestlé-Netz wurde z. B. versucht, in den Artikeln "Ernährung des Menschen", "Diät" und "Säuglingsnahrung" das "Nestlé Ernährungsstudio" zu verlinken, im Artikel "Nestlé" eine Säuglingsmilch in der Produktpalette zu ergänzen und im Artikel "Nesquik" den Bekanntheitsgrad der Marke zu erhöhen.
Otro fracaso obvio de la #IA del que oigo poco hablar es #Grokipedia, que no llegó ni a la sombra del tobillo de #Wikipedia en ningún momento. De hecho, gran parte del contenido era literalmente copiado de ésta pero sin la calidad de sus referencias.
La IA era tan mala revisando y editando entradas, que decidieron que dejara de hacerlo en marzo de este año.

Ich habe seit Samstag drei neue Wikipedia-Tools gebaut.
Nur ein Beispiel: Mit dem neuen "Wikipedia IP Analyzer" bin ich heute in der Versionsgeschichte des Wikipedia-Artikels über Donald Trump auf Bearbeitungen gestoßen, die über IP-Adressen von Roche, Mercedes-Benz und BWI (IT-Dienstleister Bundeswehr) vorgenommen wurden. Insgesamt, so das Tool, gibt es von den drei IPs in der deutschen Wikipedia mehr als 2.000 Edits. Die muss ich irgendwie auswerten.
The thing that really gets me with the Wikimedia Foundation's response to their staff wanting a union: Imagine you're charged with running the world's biggest free knowledge resource, which is only possible because of an army of nerds who love nothing more than fact-checking.
And then decide to bullshit that very crowd of people.
I learned today that just 1ml of wintergreen oil contains the equivalent amount of methyl salicylate as six aspirin tablets! Who'd a thought it.
I love learning and I love #Wikipedia. This fantastic knowledge resource is made freely available to all. Do go and give them a donation to support their amazing contribution to the world.

I just discovered the Fediverse (English) Wikipedia page has a huge section on AT Protocol and I question why. It seems like excessive promotion of Bluesky and its protocol that is not compatible with ActivityPub, both technically and in spirit. Illustrating bridging isn't the same as compatibility. Might as well add sections for other random network protocols like XMPP (Jabber).
