Hi 👋🏼
eigentlich wollte ich "nur mal was ausprobieren". Aber dann hatte ich auf einmal eine PeerTube Instanz.
Und weil ich meine alten Videos remastere (lohnt sich nicht, macht aber Spaß), dauert es ewig, bis die sich mit Leben füllt.
Damit sich das ändert, dürfen mich gerne ein paar andere YouTube frustrierte hier oder auf der Instanz selbst begleiten. Meine Themen sind Gaming und Programmieren (wobei letzteres immer zu kurz kommt).
Wer selbst Interesse an diesen Themen hat und vielleicht auch Videos hochladen möchte, darf mich gerne mal antröten, oder so.

Dieser Podcast wird 500 Jahre alt - zur Feier des Tages haben wir uns mal 12 Stunden Zeit genommen, ein paar Überraschungen vorbereitet und mal sehen, was sonst so passiert.

🥳 We've just released version 1.2.0 of the official #PeerTube app!
This version includes OpenID authentication and search functionality on the platform screen.
We've also refactored various parts of the app to enhance stability and resolve certain issues. 🐛

Wenn dies nicht ein weiteres Argument ist um @peertube zumindest privat bevorzugt zu nutzen? Die YouTube Werbebanner funktionieren nicht mehr ideal wie gewohnt (siehe oben).

Auch deswegen nutze ich YouTube nicht direkt, sondern Links über @invidious* oder nutze es mobil via @newpipe*, um Videos zu sehen und so weit frei vom Tracking zu sein. Leider sind noch nicht sehr viele anregende Videoproduktionen im Fediverse zB auf @peertube vertreten.

I have a ActivityPub technical question, please help 😀
If User A on Server A posts a comment to a post on Server B. Is the comment then saved and delivered from Server A or Server B when viewed in the interface of Server B?
Did YOU know that Mastodon and the rest of the Fediverse have a video and livestreaming service called "PeerTube"?
It's true!
And you can see new videos that come out as well as who is livestreaming by just following the hashtag #PeerTube !!!
It's THAT EASY. Just click on that hashtag and then click on "Follow hashtag" and BAM 💥 whenever someone posts with that hashtag, you'll see it in your timeline!
Support PeerTube and follow that hashtag!

Hey people who run their own PeerTube servers 👋
There is a little-publicised feature in PeerTube which lets servers subscribe to a shared "allowlist" of good servers to federate with. (You can also manually federate with additional servers that aren't on the list.)
Would there be any interest in setting up such a shared list so that PeerTube admins can easily find other nice/safe servers to federate with?

It's very easy to discover and follow PeerTube accounts & channels from Mastodon:
1. Go to a PeerTube site (e.g. fedi.video )
2. On the account or channel you want to follow, click ⧉. This copies its Fediverse address.
3. Paste the Fediverse address into the search box in Mastodon etc. This makes the profile appear within Mastodon and you can just click "Follow".
To easily and safely discover high quality PeerTube stuff, have a look at fedi.video
Besteht die Möglichkeit, das Video dazu auch auf #peertube anzuschauen?
Einer meiner Beträge gegen rechts ist der, dass ich Portale von ebendiesen Rechten meide. Dazu gehören eben (und leider) auch instagram und youtube.
I personally really like #Pixelfed and i think #Loops is a great idea and project. I'm also obviously happy about #Mastodon, also think #Lemmy is great.
#Peertube is great, so is #Funkwhale.
But ask most #GenZ folks about any of those and you're going to get a blank stare unless they are on Mastodon already.
There's nothing wrong with that, we all enjoy these things, but again, reality vs. expectations... something i can't help but consider.

Gestern hat @mashapotempa mittels Psychodrama-Methoden und mit mir einen Vortrag bei der @LeipzigerLiederszene gehalten zum Thema "Das Fediverse". Eine Teilnehmerin meinte in der Schlussrunde, dass sie jetzt eine Tür sieht, wo vorher nur Mauern waren. Das fand ich nachvollziehbar und schön.
