Someone's spinning up a MONSTROUS propaganda/fake news campaign out there right now! I'm guessing it's a state level actor. #Fedi help needed. The hosting service I've used since 2003 ( 😳 ) suddenly stopped including email hosting.
These are just personal email addresses, not commercial, but I've had them since forever and want to keep them. I also don't want to move my web hosting elsewhere, yet anyway.
So how do I find really cheap (eg around $2/mo or $30/yr) email hosting that let's me keep my own custom domains?
I want quixote@myownweirdsite.com to stay exactly the same.
I've spent hours searching and that option is either business oriented and expensive, or else it's all about web hosting which isn't what I want.

i tried a bunch of things on the #fedi, and genuinely i think #gotosocial is the best. i wish it had a more direct front-end for me to post from. maybe that's coming. but, genuinely i love it.
it's super light, customizable, it reminds me of the old internet in all of the best ways possible. it's not a bloated mess and it's easy to navigate. it keeps on getting new features and new additions without ever feeling like it's getting heavier or harder to use. i'm not the system administrator of our server, but from what i understand from her, it's been pretty painless to run and manage. it's just great.
every time i check out a profile and i land on a gotosocial instance, it makes me super happy. i love it. this is what i want my little corner of the #fediverse to be like.

hey fedi 👋 sooo it's been like 2 months since i updated anything and figured i should be real with y'all, my motivation for coding has been absolutely tanking lately, especially with altbot
it's this annoying cycle where the more i struggle with the code, the more anxious i get, which just makes everything worse lol
still give a shit about making the fedi more accessible tho! had all these big plans for integration and other stuff but yeah... brain just isn't cooperating
trying to get back into it with small commits or whatever. thanks for not giving up on this project
if anyone wants to jump in and help with some PRs, my github is always open. seriously, there's some pretty simple features waiting to be added that would be fucking awesome to see implemented
