Alt text is crucial for accessibility, but has other perks too, such as making it much easier to search for your post—or filter it. Of course, the reminder can be simply toggled off in preferences.

Recaudamos por todos los medios un total de $2024, un 33% del costo de funcionamiento del servidor. En esta oportunidad, todas las donaciones fueron donaciones recurrentes. El detalle es este:
El costo actual de funcionamiento del servidor es de $6200 y con un número de usuarios activos mensual de 242, el costo mensual por usuario es de $26. Como donación sugerida tenemos establecido el valor de $50 (~ 1 USD)
Como se vienen unos meses duros en el 2025, estamos trabajando para dar de baja algunos servicios que actualmente tenemos en un VPS y alguna otra cosa. Con esto pensamos economizar unos 20 dolares de costo de funcionamiento del servidor, pero aún no logramos la autosuficiencia.

Das Interesse an Mastodon als Alternative zu kommerziellen Social-Media-Plattformen ist nicht zuletzt durch Elon Musks Twitter-Übernahme und seine ständigen Eskapaden kontinuierlich gestiegen.

Die aktuellen Entwicklungen in den USA machen deutlich, dass wir die US-basierten IT-Plattformen verlassen müssen. #EuropäischeWerte und die Umsetzung der digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/… werden nur mit den Diensten des #Fediverse zu ermöglichen sein.
Die #Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft hat eine eigene #Mastodon-Instanz für ihre Institute aufgesetzt. Das erscheint auch für die Leibniz-Gemeinschaft ein nützlicher Ansatz. @hnnng, der das bei Helmholtz auf den Weg gebracht hat, würde sicher gerne mit Hinweisen behilflich sein.
