I've got an interesting update on this toot.
Because the notebook 📓 has a permanently disabled LCD main screen, I decided to forgo My beautiful uptime and replace that computer with another nice system, where I show attempt to get high up times again.
This one has a smaller screen which means it uses about as much power as a glorified watch

Makes no difference to how it looks, but I upgraded the microSD that the PiDP8/i runs on from 32GB to 256GB, which gives it some decent storage capacity in its main role as the evening stereo system.
FTPing music from my main desk PC seems to work pretty well. It's almost like a feasible solution.

Technology we could rely on in the last century.
It started with Winchester Drive then the MFM & the RLL drives, which needed manual parking & low level formatting.
Later it became the three and a half inch hard drive.
On my Amiga computers the Fujitsu HDDs spun at a dizzying 10,000 RPM
The Fujitsu is an Ultra Wide 68 pins SCSI HDD, with a transfer speed so high my Amiga never had to wait for data from the drive.
