South Carolina becomes the latest GOP-led state with a #bill to make the death penalty a punishment for #abortion

"Several states have banned and criminalized abortion since the #SupremeCourt overturned Roe v. Wade.
A #SouthCarolina legislator proposed the death penalty as punishment for women who get abortions.
The new bill, still in the legislature, would equate abortion to homicide."

Facebook and Google are handing over user #data to help police prosecute #abortion seekers

"As abortion bans across the nation are implemented and enforced, law enforcement is turning to social media platforms to build cases to prosecute women seeking abortions or abortion-inducing medication – and online platforms like #Google and #Facebook are helping.
This spring, a woman named Jessica Burgess and her daughter will stand trial in #Nebraska for performing an illegal abortion — with a key piece of evidence provided by #Meta, the parent company of Facebook."

The biopolitical surveillance regime - friendly sponsered by Twitter's official partners

U.S. Marshals Spied on Abortion Protesters Using Dataminr
"Twitter’s “official partner” monitored the precise time and location of post-Roe demonstrations, internal emails show.
Dataminr, an “official partner” of Twitter, alerted a federal law enforcement agency to pro-abortion protests and rallies in the wake of the reversal of Roe v. Wade, according to documents obtained by The Intercept through a Freedom of Information Act request."

Don't let Google & co. take over our lives and spaces!
Fuck off #Google!

"Google steals and exploits our #data for profit and turned this behaviour into a norm. It also colonizes our physical spaces. Google canceled its plan for a ‘Google Campus’ in Kreuzberg, Berlin under pressure by the neighborhood; yet it continues its expansion worldwide.
As a decentralized network of people, we want to keep our lives and spaces free from this law- and tax-evading company and its peers, and oppose the dystopian future they offer.
More on our wiki....."

Good Night, Tech Right!
PDF #Zine

„We’re excited to announce a new zine version of Good Night, Tech Right: Pull the Plug on AI Fascism, a deep-dive into the influence of far-Right and neo-fascist politics on the emerging bloc of tech billionaires within the Trumpian state, and its push to cement Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a new regime of capital accumulation.

With anger only rising against techno-fascists like #ElonMusk and calls for protests against #Tesla growing, we hope this zine offers people a resource and chance to start discussions around our shifting landscape.“

The Rise of Inverted Totalitarianism: An Anarchist Analysis

"In his 2003 book Democracy in Chains, political theorist Sheldon Wolin coined the term “inverted totalitarianism” to describe a political system where the traditional institutions of democracy—elections, separation of powers, and civil liberties—remain in place, but their substance is hollowed out. This inversion, Wolin argues, creates an environment where corporate interests dominate the political process, and the state serves as a tool to perpetuate the status quo of wealth and power.

From an anarchist perspective, the idea of inverted totalitarianism is not just an academic critique; it reveals the underlying mechanisms of control that maintain state power and corporate dominance. Anarchism challenges the legitimacy of all forms of hierarchical authority, and inverted totalitarianism exposes the way in which democratic facades can obscure and legitimise systems of oppression."

See text portion 'Wolin distinguishes (...)': The term totalitarism itself and only does not fit with Nazi Germany as Germany had a eliminatory agenda against jews for the purpose of elimination, leaded an eliminatory war against 'eastern' people/pooulation for plunder. Totalitarism in this sense never been just about control and profits, states doing so (Thatcher Britain, Trump USA) are in contrast to anarchist models itself anarchist and let go control.
Als Antwort auf Matze Schmidt

@matzeschmidt I'd argue that Wolin's historical comparisons to and descriptions of Nazi Germany are the weak point of his model as they are too often simplified and generalised and do not pay attention to historical and political accuracy there.

His description of the status quo (20 years ago and nowadays) and developments towards systems of managed, authoritarian democracies as hybrids of corporations and states is nonetheless and unfortunately quite convincing.

And I'd argue that Thatcher's Britain, Trump's USA, Milei's Argentina or any other neoliberal and right-wing-pseudolibertarian model is neither in any way anarchist or let go control but instead passes control to private corporations or "Public Private Partnerships" between corporations and the state with the latter often remaining as an executive power and emergency measure (who collects taxes and saves banks/enterprises if they ran bankruot) in service of the corporations. There remains a high level control, hierarchies and authoritarian power.

D'accord, a privatization of state affairs but with effects of 'decontrol' in terms of a clear sign of weakness of the ideology and power of such a state. Trump('ism') will not gain control but give it away, the federalism of the US is probably going down and the country will be divided. A sign of a very instable centralization at the moment. The 'free cities' project, in fact special economic (political!) zones remake a frontiers period of the early US, a sort of upside down
