🔁 FeedEcho v1.62.0: boost specific echoes instead of every echo to a Mastodon account.

Until now Boost was all-or-nothing per account. Each Mastodon echo now has its own Boost toggle on the Echoes page. The account-level setting still exists: while it's on, everything to that account gets boosted and the per-echo switch locks. Turn it back off and your per-echo picks resume.

Unchanged: only public and unlisted echoes get boosted (a boost would leak followers-only and direct posts), and @feedbooster is still the account doing the announcing. Follow it to see the boosts in your timeline.

We have enough features from Nextcloud. The hard part from now on is improving on core items like sync, native clients, and overal reliability.

Improving the UI also makes it easier for people to switch to Nextcloud and I think your app picker is doing a lot to clean up the UI and make it friendlier, so 👍️ on that.

I created #GeoPulse accounts for each family member and migrated all location history data from the #Owntracks recorder. The last bit was to switch #HomeAssistant location reporting to it.

I'm not sure we will use GeoPulse often, but it's nice to know we have #SelfHosted location history.

Can't wait to integrate it with #Immich, once we move there.

I came into possession of some old solar panels so I made a solar-powered web server with a raspberry pi. It's been sitting in my garden for two months running continuously on sun/battery power.

Perhaps the continuous uptime is not surprising given the extreme weather in London this summer.

It's been running the nginx start page for most of that time, but I finally made a little zine site and hooked it up to the web.

Channeling Gilbert White, Bruno Latour, lowtechmagazine, whathaveyou. Not much content there as yet.

Okay, wieso bin ich nicht schon viel früher von (self hosted) Gitlab nach (self hosted) Forgejo umgestiegen??? Forgejo ist ja mal so viel krasser, geiler, schneller, Ressourcen schonender und hübscher! Gut, die CI/CD Pipelines muss man halt komplett umbauen, aber ansonsten geht die Migration echt super leicht von der Hand... gefällt mir!

Follow-up:

Auf einem Pi läuft jetzt ein zweites Technitium DNS im Cluster. Zusätzlich kombiniert mit keepalived und einer virtuellen IP, die per DHCP an alle Endgeräte vergeben wird.

Wenn ich den Master neu starte, höre ich nicht mehr: „Hey, warum geht das Internet nicht?” 🙂

Technitium läuft dabei natürlich auch im Recursive Mode. Genauso wie ich es vorher mit Pi-hole + Unbound hatte.
