First sermon

Praise be to God who guided us to this, and we would not have been guided if God had not guided us. I bear witness that there is no god but God alone, without partner, the Guardian of the righteous. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, whom God sent as a mercy to the worlds. May God’s peace and blessings be upon him, his family and companions, and may He grant them abundant peace until the Day of Judgment.

Now then:

So I advise you, O servants of God, and myself, to fear God Almighty, for fearing God is the best provision, and it is God’s commandment to the first and the last. He, the Exalted, said: “ And We have already instructed those who were given the Scripture before you and yourselves to fear God ” [An-Nisa: 131].

Dear brothers, our discussion in these few minutes is about a great topic that we are in dire need of, namely: family dialogue, its importance and conditions.

How many problems have arisen in homes, and how many disputes have occurred between spouses, and between parents and children, and how many of these problems have ended in divorce, estrangement, disobedience, or the loss of children! One of the greatest reasons for this is the absence of dialogue, the lack of listening, and leaving each member of the family to live far from the concerns and problems of the other.

Dialogue is the exchange of views on a specific topic between two or more parties, in order to reach a specific goal, or a correct conviction, or a solution that pleases God Almighty.

O servants of God, if dialogue exists between husband and wife, between father and his children, between children and their parents, and between all members of the family, it will bring about reassurance, stability, trust, affection, mercy, harmony, and good upbringing.

No house is free from problems, and no family is free from mistakes or disagreements; even the house of the Prophet, the house of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had issues and situations, but the solution was gentleness, wisdom, dialogue, and good handling.

God Almighty said: “ And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy .” [Ar-Rum: 21]

O believers, one of the greatest examples of successful dialogue is what happened between the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Ansar, may God be pleased with them, after the Battle of Hunayn.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave some of the spoils of war to those whose hearts were to be won over (to Islam), but he gave nothing to the Ansar (Helpers of Medina), which caused some of them to feel resentful. When this reached the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), he did not become angry like a tyrant, nor did he say, “How dare you speak? Who are you to object?” Rather, he gathered them together, discussed the matter with them, and persuaded them to accept his decision.

On the authority of Abdullah bin Zaid, may God be pleased with him, he said: When God granted victory to His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, on the day of Hunayn, he distributed among the people those whose hearts were to be won over, but he did not give anything to the Ansar. So it was as if they were upset that they did not receive what the people received, so he addressed them and said:

“O people of Ansar, did I not find you astray and Allah guided you through me? And were you not divided and Allah united you through me? And were you not poor and Allah enriched you through me?” They said: Allah and His Messenger are more generous and better. He said: “Are you not content that the people go with the sheep and the camel, and you go with the Messenger of Allah to your homes?” Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

And in another narration: that he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “By God, if you wished, you could have said, and you would have been truthful and believed: You came to us as a liar, so we believed you; as one forsaken, so we supported you; as an outcast, so we sheltered you; as a needy person, so we provided for you.” Narrated by Muslim.

Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “O Allah, have mercy on the Ansar, the sons of the Ansar, and the sons of the sons of the Ansar.” (Agreed upon).

The Ansar, may God be pleased with them, wept and said: We are satisfied with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, as our portion and share.

God is great!

This is dialogue: to listen, to gather, to explain, to make the person in front of you feel valued, and to address the problem with wisdom and compassion, not with oppression and humiliation.

O servants of God, one of the first conditions for successful dialogue is: accepting dialogue.

Do not dismiss your wife’s words simply because she is a woman, nor your son’s words simply because he is young. Do not say, “I am the father, I raised him, and I know better than all of you.” Your son may have a question, a doubt, a problem, or a concern that you are unaware of, and your wife may have a sound opinion, a helpful solution, or a perspective that you do not see.

One of the greatest pieces of evidence for this is what happened in the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, when the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered his companions to slaughter and shave their heads, but they delayed because of the intense grief that afflicted them, and they did not do it at first.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and she said: “O Messenger of Allah, do you like that? Go out and do not speak a word to any of them until you slaughter your sacrificial animal and call your barber to shave your head.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out and did that. When the Companions saw this, they stood up and slaughtered their animals, and some of them began shaving each other’s heads. (Narrated by Al-Bukhari)

So look how the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, took the advice of Umm Salamah, may God be pleased with her, and in her opinion there was good, relief and a solution to the problem.

And in that is a lesson for the husband: Do not belittle your wife’s opinion, and do not say to her: Your only role is in the kitchen and raising the children! The woman may be more rational in a situation, calmer in her outlook, and better at assessing the consequences.

Brothers, one of the greatest things that helps in dialogue is for a person to be calm, and for his goal to be to reach the truth, not to win for himself.

God Almighty said: “ And speak good words to people ” [Al-Baqarah: 83].

And He, the Exalted, said: “ And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan sows discord among them .” [Al-Isra: 53]

So let the spouses, and the parents and children, beware of hurtful words, raising their voices, threatening, and bringing up past grievances; for Satan sows discord among people, fuels disputes, and turns a small word into a fire in the house.

I say this, and I ask God Almighty for forgiveness for myself and for you, so ask Him for forgiveness; He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

Second sermon

Praise be to God alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. O Muslims, one of the greatest conditions for a successful dialogue is that it be calm, and that the other party be accepted even if he is wrong.

A young man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, grant me permission to commit adultery.” The people rebuked him, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Bring him closer.” So he came closer to him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:

“Would you like it for your mother?” He said: No, by God, may God make me your ransom. He said: “Nor do people like it for their mothers.”

He said: “Would you like it for your daughter?” He said: No, by God, O Messenger of God, may God make me your ransom. He said: “Nor do people like it for their daughters.”

Then he mentioned his sister, his paternal aunt, and his maternal aunt, and the young man said: No, by God, may God make me your ransom. So the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, placed his hand on him and said:

“O God, forgive his sin, purify his heart, and protect his chastity.”

The narrator said: After that, the boy paid no attention to anything.

It was narrated by Ahmad, and authenticated by Al-Albani in Al-Silsilah Al-Sahihah.

Look at this great prophetic dialogue: He did not expel him, nor did he expose him, nor did he insult him, nor did he say: How dare you say such a thing? Rather, he brought him closer, conversed with him, awakened his heart, addressed his mind, and then prayed for him.

O father, if your son comes to you with a wrong idea, do not respond with belittlement; rather, listen to him, discuss it with him, and explain it to him gently. And O mother, O husband, O wife: do not let a mistake be a reason to shut down communication, but rather let it be a door to correction and guidance.

O servants of God, among the etiquettes of dialogue is that it should be based on compassion and mercy.

Consider the dialogue between Abraham, peace be upon him, and his father, how he addressed him with the kindest words, even though his father was a polytheist who called for the worship of idols.

God Almighty said: “ O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed, Satan has ever been disobedient to the Most Merciful . O my father, indeed I fear that a punishment from the Most Merciful will afflict you so you will be a companion to Satan .” [Maryam: 44-45]

What was the father’s answer?

He said, “ Are you turning away from my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, and leave me for a long time .” [Maryam: 46]

Despite this threat and this coldness, Abraham, peace be upon him, said: “ Peace be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, He has always been kind to me .” [Maryam: 47]

O you who converse with your wife, O you who converse with your child, O you who converse with your brother: let there be mercy in your speech, and do not respond to wrong with wrong, nor to harshness with harshness, nor to anger with anger.

Among the etiquettes of dialogue are: not to hurt feelings, and not to remind people of their past if they have repented or reformed.

Consider the situation of Joseph, peace be upon him, with his brothers, after they threw him into the well, sold him for a paltry price, and separated him from his father for many years. When God reunited them, he did not reopen the wounds of the past, nor did he say: “You are the ones who did such and such to me.” Rather, he said: “ And He was gracious to me when He took me out of prison and brought you from the desert after Satan had sown discord between me and my brothers .” [Yusuf: 100]

Look at this great literature; he attributed the matter to the whisperings of Satan, and did not expose his brothers, nor did he mention the well, nor did he mention the sale, nor did he mention what they did to him.

So, whoever wants to fix his home: do not make every dialogue session a court of the past, and do not say to your wife: Do you remember the day you did such and such? And do not say to your husband: Do you remember the day you said such and such? And do not say to your brother: You ate my money, and you wronged me, and you did such and such to me twenty years ago!

If you want to make amends, then forgive and pardon, and seek your reward from God Almighty.

He, the Exalted, said: “ But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation – his reward is with Allah .” [Ash-Shura: 40]

And God Almighty said: “ Let them pardon and overlook. Do you not love that God should forgive you ?” [An-Nur: 22].

O believers, one of the most important conditions for family dialogue is that the father lives with his family, checks on their well-being, and asks them about their problems.

It is not enough for a man to come home late, after the children have gone to sleep, and then leave in the morning before they wake up, and then expect to have righteous and upright sons, righteous daughters, and a stable home!

Children need their father; they need his presence, his questions, his smile, his advice, his attention, and his conversation.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the leader of the nation, used to check on his wives and visit them. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the afternoon prayer, he would go around to his wives, approaching them and inquiring about their well-being.” (Agreed upon).

If the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, despite his great responsibilities, allocated a portion of his time to his family, then what about us?

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you will be asked about his flock. A man is a shepherd in his household and is responsible for his flock.” (Agreed upon).

O servants of God, let each one of us examine himself: How does he converse with his wife? How does he converse with his children? Does he listen to them? Does he get close to them? Does he know their problems? Does he open the door for them to talk? Does he deal with the mistake gently and wisely? Or is the house full of silence, or shouting, or estrangement, or intimidation?

O God, set right our homes, set right our spouses and offspring, unite our hearts, and make our homes full of faith, affection, and mercy.

O God, grant us good speech, good listening, good treatment, and good upbringing.

O God, make us keys to good and locks against evil.

Send prayers and peace upon the one whom God commanded you to pray for and send peace upon, as He, the Exalted, said: “Indeed, God and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and peace upon him with a worthy greeting .” [Al-Ahzab: 56]

O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions, all of them. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.

On the ethical side, artificial intelligence presents educators with a challenge of no less importance, related to the values of honesty and integrity that we seek to instill in our children.

[h2]Our children and artificial intelligence: How do we raise them to use it consciously and responsibly?

Artificial intelligence is no longer a topic of discussion about the future we await; it has become a present reality in our daily lives, and its presence has rapidly extended into the world of our children. They now use its tools to search for information, understand lessons, complete assignments, summarize texts, create images and content, and perhaps even in matters that go beyond that to seeking advice and answers to personal questions. In light of this rapid presence, the question is no longer: Will our children use artificial intelligence? The real question is: How will they use it? Should we be content with teaching them how to benefit from these tools, or does our educational responsibility require us to cultivate in them the awareness and values ​​that enable them to use it without it becoming a tool that assists them but thinks and chooses for them?

Artificial intelligence is entering our children’s world:

Recent indicators suggest that the use of artificial intelligence is no longer limited to specialists or adults, but has become increasingly present in the lives of children and adolescents. A recent report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), based on nationally representative surveys of internet users aged 12 to 17 in ten countries, revealed that the average percentage of children who have previously used artificial intelligence reached 38%, and the percentage reached 50% in some countries, with an estimated 20 million children at least in the countries covered by the report. These figures reveal the rapid presence of this technology in the world of children, making dealing with it a real issue that requires the attention of the family and educators, not just a technological shift whose effects can be postponed [1] .

The use of artificial intelligence is no longer far from children’s education; it has already entered a number of learning areas, such as reading, writing and mathematics, and is being used to provide training and activities that suit the child’s level and needs. A recent scientific review that included 94 studies on the use of artificial intelligence in primary education showed that these tools can help develop some reading and problem-solving skills, and increase children’s motivation and participation in learning. Thus, artificial intelligence is gradually finding its way into the child’s educational experience, not only as a new technological means, but as a tool that can participate in the way he learns and practices his skills [2] .

In light of the increasing presence of artificial intelligence in children’s lives and education, the family’s responsibility is no longer limited to providing or preventing these tools. Rather, it is required to help its children deal with them properly. A child who finds a tool that can answer his questions, help him with his homework, write, summarize, and search for information for him needs to learn when to use it, when to rely on himself, how to verify what it offers him, and not make it a substitute for his mind, effort, and responsibility. This is where the real educational issue begins. Artificial intelligence can open up wide opportunities for children to learn, but how they use it determines the extent to which these opportunities become beneficial, or whether its use becomes a gateway to new educational problems.

Between benefit and dependence: Where does the educational problem lie?

The educational problem begins when artificial intelligence in our children’s lives transforms from a tool that helps them learn and access knowledge into a substitute that thinks, researches, and accomplishes tasks on their behalf. The ease of obtaining ready-made answers and solutions may push some children to take the easy way out and become increasingly dependent on these tools, instead of making an effort to understand, try, research, and solve problems themselves. With the continuation of this pattern of use, the child may lose an important aspect of learning opportunities that arise from trial and error and independent thinking. Their ability to analyze, critique, and search for solutions may also be affected. Hence, the problem does not lie in the use of artificial intelligence itself, but rather in allowing it to perform the role that the child’s mind should play, so that it transforms from a tool that helps them think into a tool that thinks for them.

On the ethical side, artificial intelligence presents educators with a challenge of no less importance, related to the values of honesty and integrity that we seek to instill in our children. With the ability of these tools to write assignments, prepare research papers, and formulate texts in seconds, some students may resort to presenting what artificial intelligence has produced as their own personal effort, without having a real role in accomplishing it. Here, the problem goes beyond just getting a grade or completing a school assignment, to become an educational issue that affects the child’s own behavior; as he may get used to getting results without making an effort, and attributing what he did not accomplish to himself. Therefore, the children’s dealings with artificial intelligence place the family and educators before a new responsibility: that the child learns that integrity does not change with the change of means, and that what is not right to do away from technology does not become acceptable just because an intelligent tool can do it on his behalf [3] .

Principles of Islamic education in dealing with artificial intelligence:

While artificial intelligence has brought new tools and educational questions that previous generations did not know in this way, Islam has laid down principles and values that guide man in dealing with new developments and regulate his relationship with knowledge and the means he uses to acquire it. Islamic education is not content with giving children the skills that enable them to deal with the tools of their era, but rather it is concerned before that with building the person who makes good use of them; a mind that is discerning and does not accept everything that is presented to it, a conscience governed by the values of truthfulness and trustworthiness, and a soul that is aware of God’s watchfulness and bears responsibility for its actions and choices. From this standpoint, our need in the face of artificial intelligence is not only to raise our children to master its use, but also to ensure that Islamic values are present in guiding and regulating this use, so that technology remains a tool in the hands of man, not a force that directs his thought and behavior away from the values on which he was raised.

Among the values ​​that should govern children’s interaction with artificial intelligence are the values ​​of honesty and integrity. The ease of producing assignments, writing research papers, and obtaining ready-made answers may lead some students to present what these tools have produced as their own work. Here, the problem goes beyond the limits of academic shortcomings to become a moral issue that touches the values ​​on which the child is raised. Islam has commanded honesty, as the Almighty said: “ O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with the truthful .” [At-Tawbah: 119] And the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt, for truth is tranquility, and falsehood is doubt.” [4] Therefore, the child should learn that using artificial intelligence does not exempt him from being honest in attributing work to its owner, nor does it permit him to attribute to himself an effort that he did not exert. The tools may change, but the values ​​of honesty and integrity remain the governing factors in how they are used [5] .

Self-control is one of the most important values ​​that children need to be raised in the age of artificial intelligence. Parents and teachers cannot monitor everything that a child does in front of their devices, or know how they use these tools at all times. Hence, it becomes most important for the child to learn how to monitor themselves and control their behavior even in the absence of others’ supervision. Islamic education establishes this self-control based on the awareness of God Almighty’s watchfulness and the certainty that He is aware of man in his secret and public actions. God Almighty said: “ Does he not know that God sees ?” [Al-Alaq: 14], and He, Glory be to Him, said: “ And He is with you wherever you are. And God is Seeing of what you do . ” [Al-Hadid: 4]. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, directed Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, when he was a boy, to this meaning, saying: “O boy, I will teach you some words: Be mindful of God, and He will protect you. Be mindful of God, and you will find Him before you…” [6] When a boy grows up being mindful of God, he realizes that his responsibility for using artificial intelligence does not depend on the presence of a father or teacher, but rather stems from an internal control that guides his choices and compels him to use these tools for what is beneficial and to stay away from what contradicts the values ​​he was raised on.

Fourth: How do we raise our children to use technology consciously and responsibly?

While Islamic education has established values ​​and principles to guide children’s interaction with artificial intelligence, instilling these values ​​requires educational practices that transform them from principles children know into behaviors they live by in their daily use of these tools. Conscious use is not achieved simply by warning of dangers, nor by prohibition and control alone. Rather, it requires a gradual approach that teaches children how to benefit from artificial intelligence without becoming dependent on it, how to ask questions, verify information, make choices, and understand the boundaries they should not cross. This is where the role of families and educators comes in, accompanying children in this new world so they learn to use its tools consciously and responsibly, instead of leaving them to discover it and define the limits of their interaction with it on their own.

Educating children about the conscious use of artificial intelligence begins with dialogue and participation, not with prohibition alone or leaving them unguided in front of these tools. Children need someone to help them understand what AI can and cannot do, and to learn through practice how to view its responses consciously and critically. UNICEF recommends that parents treat these technologies as partners with their children in learning. A parent can try an AI tool with their child and discuss the response it provides: What is useful? What seems inaccurate or needs revision? UNICEF also emphasizes the importance of calm dialogue with children about their use of these tools and agreeing with them on clear and balanced boundaries for their use. Through this participation, the family’s role shifts from simply monitoring the child’s use of technology to teaching them how to understand it and use it effectively [7] .

One of the most important things children should learn is that artificial intelligence is a tool that helps them think and learn, not a substitute that does these things for them. Instead of asking for a ready answer to a question or a complete solution to an assignment, a child can use these tools to explain an idea they did not understand, suggest ways to solve problems, or review what they wrote. Then they can go back and think, research, and decide for themselves. They should also learn not to accept what these tools offer without review, and to verify important information and refer to reliable sources or to their parents and teachers when needed. In this way, artificial intelligence becomes a means to expand a child’s ability to learn and help them acquire knowledge, instead of the ease of its use becoming a reason to dispense with thinking, research, and making an effort.

Artificial intelligence will remain present in our children’s lives, and its capabilities and uses will increase. Therefore, our educational responsibility is not to keep them away from it, but rather to prepare them to deal with it properly. What is required is to raise a child who knows how to benefit from technology without surrendering their mind to it, who verifies what it offers before believing it, who adheres to honesty and integrity in its use, and who is mindful of God’s watchfulness when the watchfulness of others is absent. If we succeed in instilling these values, the question that occupies us whenever a new tool appears will not be: How do we protect our children from it? Rather, how do we build in them the awareness and values ​​that enable them to deal with it? Technologies change and develop, but it is the firm upbringing that gives a person the ability to make good choices no matter how the tools around them change.

5. The Christ the Redeemer statue, standing atop Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks.

This 30-meter (98 ft) tall statue, with arms stretching 28 meters (92 ft) wide, overlooks the city, symbolizing peace and welcoming all with open arms. 6. Not the most amazing statue, but definitely an amazing story. In Istanbul, Turkey, they made a statue to honor the famous stray cat (Tombili) that used to sit in this position and watch the passers by.

One month after its installation the sculpture went missing. A comment from Turkey MP Tuncay Özkan: “They stole the Tombili statue. They are enemies of everything beautiful. All they know is hate, tears and war”. The statue was safely returned a short time later. More photos here.

18. Victor Noir’s grave in Père-Lachaise cemetery, created by Patrick Magaud in 1984, has gained fame not for Noir’s journalistic work but for the legend surrounding his death and burial site.

Noir was a journalist shot dead, and his grave features a full-sized bronze statue of him lying down, as if recently shot. Over time, the statue became a fertility symbol. Legend has it that kissing the statue on the lips, leaving a flower in Victor’s hat, and rubbing the genital area enhances fertility, improves one’s sex life, or helps find a husband within a year. This has led to the lips and trousers’ bulge on the statue becoming noticeably shiny from repeated contact. In 2004, a fence was erected around the grave to prevent this practice, but public protest led to its removal. Victor Noir’s grave remains one of the most visited and talked-about monuments in Père-Lachaise.

The talks were published as an essay the following year on the situation of women in society and their access to education. Women had been admitted to study at Cambridge since 1869 but weren’t allowed to graduate with a degree until 1948.

Woolf said that in order to produce high-quality fiction, “a woman must have money and a room of her own”. She wrote in her diary that she expected to be attacked as a feminist for what she had written.

“We don’t know if the publicity has been rejected because of the name of Virginia Woolf or because of the word feminism, or both,” Sanchis told La Vanguardia newspaper.

At 35, Celia Perdios had a very precise idea of how her life should be ten years later: a husband, children, a solid career, and financial security. At 45, she is unmarried, has no children, is building a new business, and admits that money remains a source of stress. Yet, she says she’s never been happier.

Her story went viral after a video was published on Instagram and People chose to tell it. “If my 35-year-old self knew where I would end up at 45, she would be devastated,” Perdios said, recalling a conversation with a friend from which the video originated. “We both laughed because we knew how true it was and how wrong she was in thinking I couldn’t be happy.”

Perdios grew up in a traditional Greek-Cypriot family where marriage and children represented almost a natural part of the future. She built a career lasting nearly twenty years in the beauty sector, but says that professional success never held the same weight as the family she had imagined having. The journey toward motherhood was long and painful. After moving to Barcelona at 34, she froze her eggs.
