Summer and I backed my car around so we could huddle in the back to watch the evening sky.
We are happy to report sunset happened as scheduled.
I have been taking note of the things that are going the way they are supposed to.
It helps.
The sky didn't disappoint so we stayed until the chill of the creeping fog chased us inside.

Summer and I are adjusting to the time change. We are hungry while trying to scout out the sunset
The clock is not our friend because it says that it's not dinnertime yet.
I took this photo this evening Summer's front acre.
Our deck is cold, breezy and not very inviting.
The sun was bright shining through the apple tree.
I dug out and replaced two fence posts today. The fence repair isn't finished but will wait until after the coming rain.
Our "Winter is Coming" projects are happening one at a time.
I baked a raspberry blackberry pie for the grandkids but they scooted off with it before I took pictures. They were here to finish our new phone set up and fix the things I already messed up.
Dinner is on the stove and we are content to be here together.

An evening in late spring. We are looking out through an opening in the forest along the shore of a small, secluded cove on a large lake. Through a break in the clouds we see a patch of cornflower blue sky. Below that, the setting sun is trying to burn through a thin, hazy cloud, tinting it a pale golden orange. The sky is mirrored on the still surface of the lake. There are two young trees growing a few inches apart to our left. A cluster of water grasses sprouting from the shallows just ahead are a lush dark green. Across the water the two peninsulas that form the cove are densely wooded.
