Azalea Flowers. Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, CSULB, Long Beach, California

Dedicated in April 1981, the 1.3 acre garden was built through the generosity of Mrs. Loraine Miller Collins in memory of her late husband, Earl Burns Miller. Following three years of planning, in cooperation with California State University Long Beach, landscape architect Edward R. Lovell was chosen to oversee its creation. The resulting garden reflects the university's continued interest in international education, student and community engagement, as well as the Miller’s interests in nature and wellness. The university is delighted to share this educational, cultural, and aesthetic resource with you.

Okayokayokay. I thought I hated having plants. I really only had two plants in my life ever in my home. And I neglected them miserably.

BUT now I started growing a strawberry and some herbs from seeds.
And this is FUN! I am so surprised!!

I think it's because I can see change happening and before with the "grown" plants they just didnt move anymore for me to see and notice change.

Our potato plants have grown quickly & really well. I have now completely earthed them up three pots deep which is as far as I wanted to go with the size pots we had available. So we're going to let them do their own thing now until they're ready to be harvested. Since then Alan's sourced six larger & stronger pots for me to use next year & as I'm so happy with them he's ordering another six. I'm a happy chappy! 🥰

My baby chilli plants are growing well & sprouting little flower buds. Once the tallest plants have got a few sets of flower buds I'll pinch the tops out to encourage the plants to bush out.

This pretty flower is Thermopsis montana, also called False Lupin. The flowers appear in mid-spring and really look like yellow lupin flowers. It originates from western North America, occurring from the Rockies to New Mexico, and enjoys well-drained soils in full sun or partial shade. It is easy to grow and copes well with drought. If happy it can spread but is easily controlled. An easy-going garden plant for pretty spring flowers. #plants #flowers #spring
