Die #Impfung 2024/25 gegen #COVID19 senkte das Risiko einer Hospitalisierung wegen COVID um 40% und das Risiko eines kritischen Verlaufs (Beatmung oder Tod) um 79% im Vergleich zu ungeimpften Personen.
Das ist das Ergebnis einer Erhebung von Forschenden der CDC.
COVID ist weiterhin nicht harmlos und Impfungen bieten weiterhin einen guten Schutz.

Erst wurde uns prophezeit, wir würden bis September 2021 fast alle durch die Impfung sterben. Später wurde das Märchen verbreitet, dass nicht #COVID19, sondern die Impfung die Übersterblichkeit in der Pandemie verursacht hätte.
Eine große Studie bei der gesamten Bevölkerung von 18-59 in Frankreich zeigte nun, dass die Geimpften ein niedrigeres Risiko zu sterben haben als die Ungeimpften.

Hier allen zu sagen, dass sie sich impfen gehen sollen, ist - nach meinem Eindruck - kaum nötig.
Dennoch, nachdem ich mir, während mein Immunsystem runtergefahren war im KH #Covid19 eingefangen habe*, kann ich nur dringend bitten, geht euch impfen. Ich kann noch nicht, nicht vor Mitte Ende Januar nach meiner hoffentlich letzten Chemo.
*bisher verläuft die Infektion glimpflich, wobei ich noch nicht wieder hergestellt bin und einfach nur hoffen kann, dass da nicht was nachrutscht.

Vaccinations lowered infection risks (but probably not as much as you might hope or expect): The infection rate among unvaccinated patients 96.72% vs. 88.69% for vaccinated.
But, the hospitalization rate was MUCH lower for the vaccinated: the booster vaccination group had a 60% lower odds of hospitalization, and the fully vaccinated group had 50% lower odds.

The sad thing about those pretending #COVID19 is just a cold is that:
- They don't know how repeated reinfections might be accumulating damage to their organs, since many chronic COVID problems are subclinical, and
- It might seem to them that their COVID infections are mild until the one that isn't, and that one infection may change their lives forever.
COVID risks are low in most of the US now, but they won't stay that way around the holidays. Do what you can to avoid another infection.
If you're an Albertan looking to get your flu or COVID vaccine for NEXT year, it appears you must have your order in place by THIS December 15th.
Yeah, you read that right.
