Zur Zeit experimentiere ich mit einer eigenen Mastodon-Instanz unter Yunohost – nur für mich. Läuft gut.
Mittelfristig könnte zum Beispiel AVM einen Mastodon-Server in die Router einbauen oder die Hersteller von NAS eine App für ihre Geräte anbieten.

Said prayer for #Yunohost migration, prepared a 🌹 rose to send on success. Sadly as often, failure. Restoring VPS backup.

In theory Yunohost is fabulous. In practice there are so often issues with system and/or app updates that the maintenance tasks do not diminish. They even add an extra layer of complexity with yuno intricacies to troubleshoot.

#AskFedi do any of you use #FOSS alternatives that you are happy and content with?

Self-hosting section?

I use Yunohost on a self-hosted VPS to allow for quick provisioning of apps and managing auth/authz. This kind of software represents another category of 'delightful self hosting'.

Angenommen ich miete mir einen vServer, um mit #yunohost mehrere Fediverse Instanzen + WordPress zu hosten.

Wird einem mit YunoHost lediglich die Installation erleichtert oder auch die spätere Administration? Mein Gefühl sagt mir, das letzteres vielleicht sogar erschwert wird, wenn man bspw. via SSH auf Konfig Dateien zugreifen möchte…

Today marks the 2-month anniversary of my #selfhosting journey: on Dec 17 I signed up for a VPS and installed #YunoHost mastodon.social/@_elena/113667…

I have never felt more empowered, tech-wise, than in the past two months. I set up my own #GoToSocial, #Pixelfed and #Friendica instances. Seeing the label "admin" next to my name always makes me smile.

Today I will sign up for a 2nd VPS (that runs on Ubuntu) and manually install #Ghost. Wish me luck!

Ha! First time I pushed the Assign button on my flohmarkt for the first article finally sold (out). All people interested in the #deskhop pcb and parts received a message that I sold them all.

I hope that the #flohmarkt #fediverse will grow until there are enough people to exchange goods and services locally and generally quickly find the things I'm looking for or find someone interested in the stuff I do not want anymore, but that might be of value for someone else.

Maybe the upcoming #yunohost integration will enable some more people to run an instance of their own.

Today I discovered that I can't participate in polls, either from the web version or from any app.
Oddly enough, only whalebird shows me correctly the poll options and I can even choose the one I like, but the submit button doesn't seem to have any effect.
Is this a friendica problem in general or could it be a bug unique to my instance ( on #Yunohost )?

I guess this topic has been covered 1000 times before, but I can't seem to find a way to "search and find" the older threads on this forum. So I apologise for returning to a familiar topic.

I installed #friendica on my home micro-server on #Yunohost and after an upgrade it worked perfectly for a few weeks, but lately it has started to frequently show the "504 Gateway Time-out" error page and I wonder if this could be due to some configuration of my node or some other reason.

As a background, at the moment, the server has only one active user, with almost 2.000 contacts.
