The Bitter Wart lichen (Lepra amara).
The name says it all:
The lichen forms small, mealy spots that you can taste to identify this lichen.
Even a small amount of a salt crystal tastes bitter, and I can confirm that this taste lasts longer than you would like!
So, it's always a good idea to have candies on hand when doing this test.
Btw, the white spots (called soredia) are small granules of fungal hyphae and algae that serve to reproduce the lichen.
