Aled and I have decided to make #MountainMonday an actual #mountain bagging day! Today took us on a 10 km hike around a mountain lake and up #ArenigFawr, the largest of the range. Sounds perfect, right? Welp... The weather turned about two thirds of the way up and the rain 🌧️ came and I was unprepared (a series of mistakes but my fault entirely). So I was very cold and wet and tired and cranky. 🤬 But it was beautiful, the girls loved it (TongueOutTuesday here we come), and we made it up and back out alive! Another adventure in the books. ✨

Hier in Melnik fließen die Elbe (links) und Moldau (rechts) zusammen. Damit wird der Strom deutlich stärker. Aber man hat häufig das Gefühl, dieser schon groß angewachsen Fluss sei ein Stehgewässer, bzw. fließe rückwärts.

Diese Steigungen in den Straßen hier sind schon echt irre.

Aber ein schönes Fleckchen ist es allemal

We were in Skopje in 2016 while the Colourful Revolution was ongoing. The city centre was kind of bonkers in that it looked like a Las Vegas version of itself. Lots of new marble and HUGE monuments. There were fences around the government buildings and the oversized, garish monuments were covered in vivid paint splashes. It was quite the spectacle.
