Like @dillyd I went for a hike yesterday and saw a fungal ton of mushrooms. I'll just string some of them out in an unnumbered thread here for anyone who wants to check them out.
Start of with a bolete, since they were everywhere!

Russulas are a genus of fungi that comes in cool colors. ID characteristics include:
1. Usually 2-4 inches high with a circular cap that’s one color. In this case, purple.
2. Most have white/cream gills. Stems are usually white, perhaps with a flush of color similar to the cap.
3/4. The color of many can be peeled to expose white flesh. I’ve been to craft fairs where artists have made dyes from them.
IDing down to the species is much more difficult. 🔬

Didn't get around to posting these the other day from a trip through Oregon's coastal range, a short trail named Bloom Lake on Hwy 26. Only thing we saw blooming was a skunk cabbage (not pictured), but we did find a few cool mosses and mushrooms
