"I have been thinking of #allyship specifically since recently participating in a Fellowship and Summer Institute on #Antisemitism & #JewishIdentity in Educational Settings at my alma mater, The #GeorgeWashington #University. One of the overarching themes from this program was the ways in which individuals who identify as #Jewish may often feel compelled to hide this aspect of their identity, for fear of being targeted or treated negatively.
Another takeaway is that in the context of discussing marginalized identities, #Jews as a group may not always be recognized. For instance, notions of systemic #racism oftentimes bring to mind Black identity or other people of color (#POC). I am trying my best not to be too pessimistic about the state of academia, but then there are mornings like today when I see that the Deutscher Hochschulverband [the German association of university professors] is offering a further training course entitled "Der Weg zum Forschungsantrag mit Multi-Agenten: Forschung mit KI neu denken" [Roadmap to a multi-agent research proposal: Rethinking research with AI]. This four-hour practical workshop demonstrates how to make use of multiple "AI agents" to review the literature, develop research questions and hypotheses, and write grant proposals. 🧠 Glasgow Uni looked great in the setting sun. I really wanted to try some 'breaking the rules' effects by taking shots facing the sun (mirrorless cameras have electronic viewfinders so I wasn't risking eye damage!)
⭐I love the rays coming from the sunlight disappearing behind the buildings. I also like the purple and green streaks to the left (I'm sure they've a technical name I don't know).
➡️ I took this quickly and had to rotate it so the lamppost was straight but that cut off more of the building at the left than I wanted.
