Every night after leaving the best place on earth, #38c3, I had to walk by this place near Nordkanalstraße, where my hotel was.
There was a giant 8-lane street plus an elevated driveway. The sky was tinged in neon tinted fog from all the advertising screens. It was right next to a giant empty lot that could have been a park, but instead is just wasteland.
It was freezing. There was this huge lobby that that is always empty, warm and brightly lit. It belonged to a hotel named Hyperion, or something silly like that. And 15 meters from that, under the driveway, some people were sleeping or maybe dead; I wouldn't have know.
It was just another one of those scenes straight out of the #cyberpunk media of my youth. It makes you sick.
