I realize I never made an intro post, so here it is.
I’ve worn different hats over the years, been a journalist, social scientist/policy analyst, data scientist, educator. Now a budding video game developer.
Long-time #scifi lover, especially (increasingly need) broadly hopeful scifi. I’ll most likely post a fair bit about books, TV/movies, and games. (Starting a little slow, I'm shy, but will get there.)
In games I also look for broadly hopeful, creative and uplifting games. I enjoy adventure RPGs and survival games, especially with beautiful and interesting worlds. But if there’s an easy or peaceful mode, I’m on it. Cozier farming/crafting/building games even better!
In both media and social science, I've long grown frustrated with over-emphasis on illustrating/preaching about problems, with far too little attention to the harder work of building solutions. That's what drew me to #solarpunk, found it a few years ago while starting to develop a game that aims to do that. We'll see where this goes!
