Lake Mead is sitting at 1,040.85 ft as of Aug 3, 2026 — just 0.27 ft above its all-time record low set in July 2022.

That's 26.9% of capacity, down 13.3 ft over the past year. The Bureau of Reclamation's July 2026 study projects the lake could keep sliding toward 1,037 ft this fall. Boaters are being warned of newly exposed hazards as the water retreats.

The Colorado River basin's water crisis isn't easing up.

For America’s Rarest Wildlife, Survival May Hinge on a Single Word.

For 50 years, the Endangered Species Act has defined “harm” as not just injury to individuals but to the habitat on which they depend.

By narrowing that definition, the Trump administration is leaving hundreds of species at risk of extinction. #ClimateChange #GlobalWarming
