I'm working on something that will improve the app’s scroll and memory footprint. One of the biggest culprits is the streamed posts. If you follow a lot of stuff, many posts can be streamed while you read your timeline.
I’m working on a new behavior that would keep increasing the counter live, like it is right now, but you’ll need a pull to refresh to display those posts. They’ll not automatically appear at the top of your timeline anymore.
Let me know what you think of this.

Mozilla, reading the room extremely well, seemingly just recently flipped the switch to enable-by-default sponsored weather results from AccuWeather in every new Firefox tab you open. Clicking "Learn more" takes you here, with zero information on if your location is sent to AccuWeather every time you open a new tab: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/c…
Probably only noticed because I normally have a blank new tab page but this showed up after updating Firefox!

I finished another #webdev side project and built the QR code generator of my dreams: 
fietkau.software/qr
* It's instant, purely client-side, and has no ads or upsells.
* It has a variety of color, shape, and logo embedding options.
* There's PNG and SVG export.
The included logo selection is, let's say, "opinionated" and features lots of familiar faces if you enjoy federated social platforms. 😄

It has two fun new shape styles, a bunch of added logos (👋 @pixelfed @joinpeertube @Codeberg @forgejo and more), some advanced options for turbo nerds, and irregularly shaped logos now get better cutouts.
I think this covers most of the feature requests I've received. 😀

Very important caveat on this tutorial is the use of the #truecharts version of NC.
Read truecharts.org/news/scale-faq/ why this is a problem. And use the TrueNAS catalog instead.
