Firefox (y LibreWolf) 138 añade una opción para usar un certificado digital tan solo durante una sesión. Hasta ahora, cuando usabas un certificado lo más cómodo era decir que recordara la decisión, de lo contrario lo pedía varias veces) y borrar ese recuerdo de las preferencias. Con esta opción lo ponen mucho más fácil a quienes manejamos más de un certificado.

¿Si o no?

-Mi experiencia me dice que Chromium + ublock lite es mas rapido e igual de efectivo que Brave bloqueando rastreadores y ventanas emergentes con la ventaja de no tener todo el bloatware crypto que lleva incluido Brave.
Si a eso le añadimos la mochila ideológica y el historial de controversias que arrastra Brave me lleva a recomendar Chromium + ublock si quieres un navegador complementario a Firefox y su motor gecko.

This extreme dependency on Google was already a topic in the past, and I still don't get it how they could end up in such a dependency.

On the other hand, a German article mentioned that in 2023, 495 million US-Dollar out of 653 million US-Dollar in total came from Google. This means that they still have 158 million US-Dollar without Google. Quite some money compared to other Free Software initiatives and even many company backed projects.

So there should be a sane ways to move on, right? Don't do anything against the monopoly can't be the solution.

Ah, dann muss ich dem VPN-Anbieter aber auch vertrauen, dass er nicht mitloggt und/oder profiliert. Gegenüber dem VPN-Server bin ich nicht anonym.

Daher zum einfachen Surfen und unkritischen Nutzerkonten: #torbrowser nutzen.

Dort wo ich mich eh namentlich einlogge und/oder Zahlungsdaten eingebe, bleibt es ungetunnelt der #firefox .

Ich bin so ein Tab-Messi, mache ständig neue Tabs auf. Die legt der Browser dann immer brav ganz rechts ab.
Irgendwann sind es dann so viele Tabs, daß sie nicht mehr alle in die Tableiste passen und ich bekomme rechts und links Pfeile zum Scrollen.
Das ist suboptimal, lieber wäre mir eine zweite Tab-Leiste unter der ersten.
Geht das irgendwie?

🤔 Eine Empfehlung wäre nicht schlecht gewesen.
Auch bisher war es so, dass man Firefox nur mit den Erweiterungen …

• uBlock Origin
• Ghostery
… betreiben sollte.
Mit diesen ist Firefox immer noch der beste Kompromiss zwischen Komfort und Datenschutz.

A ver, gente que sabe un montón de estas cosas, quiero cambiar mi (hasta ahora amado) Firefox por otro navegador, pero veo que hay muchas alternativas y no sé cuál es mejor.

Busco, sobre todo, que sea ligero, que respete la privacidad del usuario y que pueda instalar addons de Firefox para quitarme publis, rastreos y demás cosas.

Da ich mich immer ein wenig unwohl fühle, wenn mehrere Daten von mir konzentriert an eine einzige Stelle gehen ( #Mozilla #Firefox ), obwohl #OpenSource und ein transparenter Umgang mit dem Thema #Datenschutz, habe ich heute Morgen auf den noch ein wenig privateren #Browser #LibreWolf umgestellt.

So bequem die Möglichkeit der Synchronisation zwischen mehreren Endgeräten auch sein kann, die Daten der #Lesezeichen, #AddOns, vielleicht sogar die #Passwörter und neuerdings auch E-Mail-Masken und obendrein auch noch die Telefonnummer-Maske sowie einem #VPN in die Hände EINES Anbieters zu geben - lieber nicht ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Die Integration von #KeePass war zwar ein wenig herausfordernd, aber jetzt habe ich mich auch hier noch ein wenig besser absichern können 😀
