In #Deggendorf wurde ein #Selfiepoint an der Donau installiert. Auf #OSM hab ich ihn nach dem proposal wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Pr… eingetragen. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen es gibt photopoint:prop=swing zuerst dachte ich das passt bei den unten im Bild zu sehenden Selfie Point, allerdings ist die Sitzfläche mit dem Boden verbunden, also keine Schaukel, hab mich jetzt doch für frame entschieden.

The map style on OSM.org had blue motorways from the start (since OSM originated in the UK, and that's the style).
When they changed it to _red_ motorways (in 2015), the OSM community literally wrote a blog post warning people about this traumatic change!

Moin #Bike oder #wanderbubble habt Ihr einen Tipp für eine #OSM basierte #Karten-app, die folgende Funktionalitäten mitbringt. Zur Zeit nutze ich @organicmaps (davor: #OSMscout), aber beide leisten dies soweit ich das bisher erfahren habe eider nicht (prove me wrong):
▶️ Anzeige der Geschwindigkeit auch ohne Routing (finde es umständlich, bei einer kleinen und bekannten Radrunde immer irgendein fiktives Ziel oder gar Wegpunkte einzugeben, nur um die aktuelle Geschwindigkeit angezeigt zu bekommen)
▶️ Auswahl mehrerer Routenvorschläge im Routing
▶️ Bei/nach Routenaufzeichnung Anzeige Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit (mit/ohne Standzeiten) und gerne auch Export dieser Daten (OSMscout ist hier besser als #organicMaps

To be clear, I actually have a pretty good understanding of how hard a problem P4B are trying to solve. Using #OSM data to estimate biking stress is exactly how our @bikeboston.bsky.social Stress Map (labs.bostoncyclistsunion.org/s…) is created.
I know more than most the limitations to this type of project. But I don't think their stress map is off, its how they rate cities after creating the stress map.
Don't forget! `air_conditioning=yes/no` is the tag you can map now!
When you walk into a shop/cafe/restaurant do you immediately notice the cold air? You should be happy for 2 reasons! You can cool down, and now you have something to map into OSM!

I am REALLY FRIKKEN MAD now that the PBF→Spatialite conversion of #OSM data loses all of the relationships made by the relations in the data. I had to give up on #overpass queries because hey nobody can run an API any more without drowning in LLM scrapers, and the SQLite database is so much quicker in #QGIS than my old geojson/shapefile approach, but the limits of the separate multilinestring rendering of relation data are significant.
My project used to have really nice distinct rendering for signposted cycle routes that changed depending on whether or not the route forced the rider to tAkE tHe LaNe on a designated road. It really highlighted how bad the gaps were in the local cycle network, and was a really important tool for local campaigning!
But now I'm forced into some compromises that make my maps far less useful, all because everything's a botnet now. I'm still not sure it's going to work!
🚋 Essen’s tram network was reorganised on 14 June 2026.
I created an unofficial geographic map of the new network, based on OSM data — including the tram routes extending into neighbouring municipalities.

This is Haru and Tanos. Haru is the black cat. We adopted him from a shelter at two years old, after he lived there his whole life. Tanos is a Malinois. We took him in when his owner could not keep him anymore.
Life can change fast, animals are often the first to lose their home. This is why I made #PawFed, a shared map for animal welfare. Not many people use it yet, but it is worth sharing. It relies fully on #ActivityPub and uses #OSM.

Kann mir jemand näheres zu dieser Wasserentnahme Stelle sagen?
Es ist auf alle Fälle keine klassische Schwengelpumpe.
Beim anheben des Hebels öffnet sich eine Ventil und das Wasser läuft, sobald der Hebel/Schwengel losgelassen wird schließt das Ventil und der Wasserfluss stoppt. Die "Pumpe" ist an das Wasserversorgungsnetz angeschlossen.
Gefunden habe ich sie in #österreich im Ort Schiltern im #waldviertel
Ich gehe davon aus das das Wasser Trinkwasser ist.
Gerne hätte ich nähere Details und ggf den und Hersteller zwecks Eintrag in #Osm

Is there a tag for restaurants that have robot waiters/table delivery?
I just saw one for the first time (where a robot brought food to a table for customers) and wondered if I could/should tag it. I imagine some people would want to find and go to these places out of interest (while it's still a relatively new/novel concept). Conversely I'm sure there are people who'd prefer to avoid places like this...
Lokjo has a new setting especially for wheelchair users.
It's in the Quick menu, blue round button.
When searching categories (shops, cafes, theatres etc) it shows a color code, if you can enter, difficult, not, or unknown.
I hope it'll help users to go out in the city with more comfort. They deserve it.

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich hier gepostet, dass in Sachsen-Anhalt noch so viele Hausnummern auf der OSM fehlen, und dass das Eintragen der Hausnummern den Rettungsdienst unterstützt, weil wir dann weniger durch die Dörfer irren.
Seitdem hat sich einiges getan, die Kurve der eingetragenen Adressen zeigt steil nach oben! 3051 neu eingetragene Adresse in Sachsen-Anhalt in 9 Tagen, das macht mich froh.
Nice and at the same time a little bit disappointing. A local company installed a bicycle maintenance station in a semi-public space*.
They bought an expensive product** with a durable pump and good bike hangers.
And then it was delivered with the shittiest set of tools ever. Covered in corrosion months after installation. Such a shame.

**If I remember correctly this one was three times the price as the one I installed myself.

Question for OSM mappers
Just curious, I'm suggesting a new tag 'temporarely_seller' for people who sell only 1 or more days in the week. Like on a week-market.
This would map them as a 'Shop' on map services (like Lokjo) and -eventually- help them out economically.
The seller node would be connected to the (mapped) market with a tag 'market=polygon12345' or something similar, to query/show it only on the day the market is open.
Would you approve this idea?
If you want to help with the Open Source community, one of the best ways to do that is to volunteer with Open Street Map.
All you have to do is make an account + install the Organic Maps app. Any time you're out and notice a business missing (or details like hours), just add it! It's really easy.
That way, when people use open source maps apps their results are more accurate!
Hausnummern retten Leben.
Was mich als OSM-Nerd echt überrascht hat, ist dass die Leitstellensoftware, und die Navigation der Rettungsmittel in den Bezirken in denen ich Notarzt bin mit #openstreetmap -Karten arbeitet.
Und auch wenn wir aus den Leitstellen für die Einsätze immer mal Koordinaten aus der Handy-Notfall-Ortung bekommen, werden auch oft Adressen aus den Gespräch übermittelt.
Und hier im ländlichen LSA fehlen manchmal die Hausnummern! Und dann suchen wir Straßen ab.
