Manjaro mit dem CachyOS-Kernel verwenden.
Fazit nach mehr als ein einer vollen Woche mit #Linux :
Ich habe noch nicht wirklich etwas entdeckt was nicht funktioniert. Es funktioniert teilweise nur anders als von Windows gewohnt.
Mein Mann hat #Manjaro installiert und ich #Mint.
Diese beiden Distros machen einige Dinge unterschiedlich, was manchmal die Kommunikation über "Probleme" erschwert.
Alles in Allem bereue ich den Umstieg nicht.
Finde die Distri, die zu Dir passt.
Ihr braucht einen "größeren" USB-Stick und installiert #Ventoy.

Dann Eure ISO Dateien einfach drauf kopieren ( kein #flashen ) und vom #USBStick booten. In der Auswahl dann die ISO starten und testen.

Auch gut zur #Datenrettung #Backup geeignet.

Wenn bei einem ansonsten fehlerfreien #Linux-#Manjaro-Update #Firefox upgedatet wird und dabei die Schlüsseldatei der gespeicherten Passwörter gelöscht wird und somit kein Zugriff mehr auf die Passwörter existiert, ist das maximal #Scheiße. Sowas vermiest einem den Umstieg von #Windows unnötig.
*fordert von ca. zwanzig Accounts seit letzter Sicherung neue Passwörter an.

Auch #KDE #Plasma ist bei #Manjaro #Linux aktuell weiterhin mit #X11 möglich.
Hierzu muss das Package `plasma-x11-session` installiert werden.
Damit ist bei der grafischen Anmeldung die Auswahl möglich, ob die grafische Session in #Wayland oder in #X11 laufen soll.
Diese Änderung war aber bereits im stabilen Update vom 08.12.2025 enthalten.

Pues me he cargado algo al decirme "Uy, pues seguro que con los drivers de Nvidia los juegos van mejor" 🤣
He reinstalado y sigue sin funcionar ni Vivaldi ni nada tipo Chrome o Chromium. Ya investigaré qué le pasa mientras sigo con Firefox.

Eso sí, bendito snapshot, pero voy a tener que estudiar para ver qué leches le pasa y cómo arreglarlo.
Al final he reinstalado todo de nuevo y he actualizado parcialmente. Lo justo para tener lo mínimo e irme a dormir en paz.
Mañana me meteré en los foros para preguntar en condiciones.
Vi la actualización y los problemas, usé un comando para actualizar y se quedó generando los EFI... Y petó el sistema gráfica y el monitor volvió a 800x600 o menos. Gracias al snapshot he vuelto a la normalidad.
Como ya me registré en los foros oficiales, creo que pondré un tema con lo que me está pasando y de paso pregunto si el libro que tengo me sería útil y consejos varios.
Pues salvo unos problemas con Vivaldi, que será cuestión de mirar con más calma, parece que tengo todo montado y el segundo disco duro se está formateando mientras tooteo.
Me voy a jugar al Fitness Boxing mientras 🤣

De todo lo que quería hacer estos días (además de descansar, antes de que alguien me regañe), lo que mejor va es la parte de ordenar mi habitación y de migrar a Linux.
Ahora estoy pegándome con los discos duros externos para ver que tienen todo lo que necesito pero nada duplicado, que aún me faltan cosas por guardar.

Falls jemand so wie ich #Manjaro Testing verwendet und nach dem Update plötzlich offline ist, weil kein DNS-Server eingetragen ist: Das Problem scheint bei openresolv zu liegen. Ein Downgrade auf Version 3.16.5 hat geholfen, anschließend habe ich das Paket angepinnt, damit es nicht gleich wieder aktualisiert wird. Mandato appena a prendere il mio nuovo computer. Un #NucBox K12, che monta un AMD Ryzen 7 H255 con 32 gb di ram, 1 Tb di SSD, porta #oculink.
Sembra una bella macchinetta anche discretmente espandibile. Finalmente non ne potevo più del #macbookpro di 12 anni fa con #manjaro.

Ho appena realizzato che la mia installazione "sperimentale" e "temporanea" di #Manjaro #Linux (ricordate? Secondo le malelingue Manjaro, in quanto figlia illegittima di #ArchBTW e quindi "rolling" sarebbe notoriamente instabile e inaffidabile) sta funzionando da 4 anni. Stando al mio pacman.log ho installato la mia distro su questoesattamente l'11.11.2021 alle ore 22.00. Questo fa di oggi il quarto compleanno della mia installazione di Manjaro!🎂🥳 ...l'esperimento continua! 🤭 @linux #UnoLinux
Von jetzt auf gleich startete die grafische Oberfläche nicht mehr, #lightdm wollte einfach nicht mehr starten.
Vom USB-Stick konnte ich das Manjaro #Livesystem starten. Die #grafikkarte (bzw. #onboard Grafik, AMD) funktioniert also im Prinzip.
Bleibt mir nur noch die Konsole und die Hoffnung, dass ich bei Rückkehr des Internets #sddm installieren kann oder ein #update Abhilfe bringt und es dann hoffentlich wieder läuft.
Für Anregungen, was die Ursache sein könnte und wie man das Problem lösen könnte, bin ich dankbar.
Frage zu AppImage. Vom ZEN Browser werden unterschiedliche AppImages angeboten.

was macht man mit dem .zsync? Kann ich damit das Image automatisch aktuell halten?

Na toll. Nach #Manjaro-Update startet #Linux nicht mehr mit Meldung in Grub:
grub-is-using-legacy-shim-lock nicht gefunden.
Auch Windows lässt sich dort nicht mehr starten. Das ist erschreckend, weil ich keine Ahnung habe, wie ich das beheben soll. Erste Suche mit Smartphone im Netz ergab, dass es da wohl ein Problem mit einem Update gab. Erste Meldungen vor 30 Tagen. Wieso wird das dann weiter angeboten? Ich finde auch keine rechte Lösung. Nur oft das Wort alles neu installieren. Echt das ist desillusionierend.
Zum Frühstück installiere ich #manjaro auf meinem alten Acer Laptop. Bin schon gespannt.

Mein neues #Manjaro KDE erkennt meine externe Festplatte mit den ganzen Daten, die da drauf ruhen, nicht. Siehe Screenshots.
Ideen, was ich tun muss, damit die Platte gelesen werden kann? Ich hoffe, es findet sich eine möglichst nicht zu komplizierte Lösung.
Erster Absatz: Ja.
Auf meinem Desktop-PC läuft Mint (Versionssprünge), auf dem Notebook Manjaro (= Rolling Release).
Bei beiden verwende ich als Oberfläche Cinnamon. Und deshalb sehen beide Systeme gleich aus und verhalten sich gleich, auch gleich stabil.
Aber bei dem Notebook gibt es eben diese Versionssprünge nicht.
Andererseits: Für Mint kannst du die gut verständlichen Hilfeseiten im Wiki von ubuntuusers.de 1:1 verwenden. Deshalb würde ich für den Anfang zu Mint raten.
