Do you know why Firefox lost the browser wars?
Because they always blamed everyone else — always.
It was always a browser extension’s fault, a hardware fault, or the user’s fault. Meanwhile, Chromium works — that’s it — it works.
You lose, and worst of all, you don’t even own up to it.
Like, soft forks of Firefox like LibreWolf are great for disabling the AI anti-features, but now that Mozilla is using Claude for development, the whole codebase is tainted.
LibreWolf et al really need to be hard forks off of the last non-AI commit from the FF codebase, if not they're just as untrustworthy as well.

Ich finde es auch befremdlich, dass ihr zu meinem Leseverhalten Daten erhebt.
Info: Ich habe z.B. 1984 zwei Mal gelesen. Harry Potter mehrfach. Aktuell bin auf einem Stanislav Lem Trip und eh generell seit meinem 7. Lebensjahr Science-Fiction orientiert.
Hoffe ich konnte die verpassten Daten ein wenig ausgleichen.

Ein Browser, der Nutzer konsequent schützt, transparent erklärt, was passiert, und sich wieder klar auf die ursprüngliche Mission besinnt: ein offenes Web, in dem der Mensch im Mittelpunkt steht – nicht Werbenetzwerke, Datenbroker und Profiling.
Und bitte: kein KI-Kram im Browser. Keine Zwangs-Features, keine Assistenten, die Daten abgreifen, keine »smarten« Experimente.

Un bonito artículo sobre navegadores basados en Firefox para vuestro deleite. Librewolf sigue siendo uno de mis favoritos para no perder apenas tiempo reconfigurando ajustes tras actualizaciones o reinstalaciones dado que quienes lo desarrollan tienen gustos muy parecidos a los míos.

In Woche 51 war in der FOSS-Welt einiges los. Von Linux Mint über Firefox zu Mozilla.
Mozilla wird es richtig gut machen. Mit dem sogenannten "Kill Switch" werden alle KI Modelle und Funktionen restlos entfernt und nicht mehr angeboten.
Das Mozilla in diese Richtung forscht und auch Angebote aussprechen wird, ist nachvollziehbar. Nutzenden das als Opt-In anzubieten ist fair.
