@feb Ah, danke. Bundesstraßen brauchen wir nicht mehr. Wir bauen nur noch Autobahnen ohne Tempolimit. Das sind dann also über 300 neue Kilometer pro Jahr. Klingt doch supi! ^^

@Tahija Das würde nur der deutschen Kernwirtschaft schaden. Und die besteht nun mal darin, PS-starke Otto- und Diesel-Motoren immer weiter zu verbessern. Also nicht, was Schadstoffe betrifft. Die sieht man ja gar nicht. Nein, es geht um irgendwelche Effizienzsteigerungen im Zentiprozentbereich, wo E-Fahrzeuge längst um Längen überlegen sind, wovon aber die petrolverseuchten Köpfe nix wissen wollen. Diese Teile der deutschen Politik inklusive ihrer WählerInnen müssen wir aus Zukunftssicht wohl als Patienten betrachten. @feb

TL;DR: If online-only DRM servers shut down, publishers would be required to keep your game working regardless.
Only targets video games because that is where this practice is by far the most prevalent today, but it would set a precedent that we might soon need for things like phones, cars, and all the other things that are increasingly getting CPUs shoved inside them.
Nightly has a few issues with crashing when trying to update through the download button, and also the copy crash log feature is also making the app crash (this is really just giving me headaches), which is why I am working on a better crash handler, because I don't want the headaches of having the crash logs hard to find for the users that just want to use the app without it crashing 😁
But there is something that keeps me going. Apart from the enjoyment of coding, the thing that keeps me going is the financial support you guys give me. Without it, I'd still be rocking an old machine, having headaches just navigating android studio.
With your help, I was able to get a decent computer for developing Moshidon, and recently I was even able to buy a 32gb kit of ram, which is helping immensely my dev experience.

Question for #ActivityPub implementors: has there been any research on how to best handle deletions (accounts and/or posts)?
At the moment, the best (and only?) way to know that an account deletion has been federated everywhere is to notify any known inbox / instance, for every account deletion.
This is very wasteful and not efficient, are there any alternatives? Has anyone worked on this?
For Mastodon @Claire had a go at using a bloom filter to restrict the list of instances we broadcast to (github.com/mastodon/mastodon/p…), but this requires authenticated fetches for accounts, which prevents HTTP caching of those and might cause performance / scalability issues, and this is not ideal.

@lisamelton Hi Lisa! I remember you are using the notifications quite a lot, did you test the new grouped notifications feature we recently deployed on mastodon.social? Any feedback? Does it help you managing the amount of notifications you are getting?
We deployed the grouped notifications experimental feature on mastodon.online and mastodon.social, and are looking for some initial testers to gather performance information and ensure it works properly.
This feature is only available in the web UI for now (see 2nd screenshot)
There are some known issues (around keyboard navigation) and the API is not yet final.
Please open a Github issue if you find any problem with them, so we can fix it before the 4.3-beta1 release!
