Oil source is deep below the well its not like a tap; once it starts flowing you have to keep it moving in a continuous stream from the ground to pipe to shipping and refinery.

When the Strait closed, they had to shut off the wells. What are you going to do with it? Big flamable pool? Put it in Jars? Everyone adopt a barrel?

It ran for 3 weeks which is how much was in the pipes at the time. Then it stopped flowing 2 weeks ago.
