Es werden offensichtlich immer mehr Geschütze gegen die selbstbestimmte Nutzung digitaler Geräte aufgefahren. Wer es noch nicht mitbekommen hat: Google will Android in eine geschlossene Plattform transformieren. Das würde wahrscheinlich das Aus von F-Droid & Co bedeuten. Der Wahnsinn soll im September starten.

Mich würde es am heutigen #DiDay freuen, wenn kompetente Menschen realistische Einschätzungen zur kommenden #Registrierungspflicht für App-Entwickler von #Android geben könnten.
Mich persönlich interessiert vor allem:
- Was bedeutet das für #Fdroid im Allgemeinen und die Verwendung von Fdroid auf Androids im Besonderen?
- Was bedeutet es für die Weiterentwicklung von #LineageOS , #eOS und Co?
Dies habe ich schon lange Zeit im Einsatz so wie hatte ich mal darauf online hingewisen. Ist es schön nun auch darüber in einem @gnulinux Artikel zu lesen. Ja @newpipe so wie sein Werbungs-Blocker-Klon (siehe in dessen Kommentare) erleichtern einiges um von der Werbungsüberfluss verschont zu bleiben.

#FDroid website is not redirecting a link correctly, hence the big blue button that new or returning users use to get F-Droid Client is not working.
The link now contains the page locale and that trips it. We are working on a fix, in the mean time, feel free to remove the `/en` (or your own locale) from the link and retry.

Chale, ayer pedían que "durmieran a la zorra" (#Firefox) por no saber hacer UI, lo estaban probando en derivados no oficiales de Android y la barra de direcciones invadía el notch o la zona de botones para navegar en el sistema (en mi teléfono no pasa eso).
La comparación era con #Cromite, un navegador no disponible en Google Play ni en #FDroid (en este último se puede habilitar configurando un repositorio adicional), que según los quejosos de Firefox, es lo mejor de lo mejor en Android, así que procedí a instalarlo para probar, pero... ¿Ahora quién no sabe hacer UI?

I need help refuting or supporting this argument:
If you want to have only one mobile device and are worried about #PRIVACY, it is BETTER to have an #Apple iPhone than an #Google #Android based phone.
I am not considering alternatives like GrapheneOS, /e/ OS. I am also considering that both devices are logged in to Google or Apple accounts and using respective stores and not #Fdroid, Aurora or the like. And yes, this is convenience versus effort.

@kalivene 🇪🇺🐈⬛🍁🌻 While I wholeheartedly agree with this, the more interesting question to me here is: Google Play and the Apple AppStore has payment procedures included. Given the idea of providing some sort of cash to app developers, and be it as one-time donations, is more than just worth recommending, I always have and still do wonder why #fdroid and other alternative app stores don't come with a solution to that problem baked-in too. It would just sound very worthwhile to do so (and the other way 'round also help independent software developers who, by now, are stuck with Google Play on Android because they can't afford giving their stuff away for "gratis"...).
Dear app developers, there are really great #fdroidapp from you in #fdroid and I would really like to give you a donation. But if all payment options are handled exclusively via #paypal, I won't. I also think that does not fit the concept of being an alternative to google&co.

Liebe App-Entwickler, es gibt wirklich großartige #fdroidapp von euch im #fdroid und ich würde euch dafür wirklich gern eine Spende zukommen lassen. Aber wenn alle Zahlungsmöglichkeiten ausschließlich über #paypal abgewickelt werden, mache ich das nicht. Ich finde auch, das passt nicht zum Konzept, eine Alternative zu google&co zu sein.

Every project has an agenda. #FDroid's agenda is about Keeping Android Open, for everyone, not only our or your favorite project.
While we both have the privilege of running a distro that cares about our freedom, we march for the rest of the users, the 3.9 billion ones that are not here in our (tech and social) bubble. For our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and more, that will not be able to install the same privacy respecting, secure software, just because #Google said so.
