Per home-assistant.io/voice_contro…, audio is always being recorded and wake word detection is offloaded to stronger hardware.
Is there an option to enable wake word detection on device/only record audio after?
Is the hardware in the preview edition powerful enough to handle that?
If not, is this planned at some point?
Fully local processing is great for privacy - this would be a nice additional layer 😀

Found random Ali-sourced RGB string with USB dongle.
Duck'd the app name + HomeAssistant.
Found HACS integration for it.
Needs Bluetooth. Too far from HA server.
Found Bluetooth Proxy for ESPHome.
Enabled BT Proxy on my ESP32-S3-Box-3 Voice Assistant.
HA autodiscovered the dongle and IT WORKS JUST FINE!
Fscking hell, I love Free Software and HA in particular!

My first prototype of the #esphome plug-in temperature/humidity sensor is done. All works and looks ok but it’s a little chunky. I definitely have some space to slim it down in v2. Need to figure out how to make the two halves lock together. Any thoughts #makers ?
