Great first release of the year, backups have been on my to do list for a while 😳. Do you think Nabu Casa may consider a 'backup only' subscription in the future?
Personally I use a self hosted Wireguard VPN to access my Home Assistant and all my Voice assistant stuff is local. However off site backup is something I would seriously consider.
Thanks again team for all your incredible hard work.

Here’s a brief writeup on getting a HomePod Stereo Pair setup in #musicassistant in my #HomeAssistant environment: jimwillis.org/2025/01/01/stere…
Finding that the home assistant/music assistant environment is soooo much more flexible than HomeKit/airplay.
Stereo HomePod Pair in Music Assistant - Jim Willis
Took me a little while to get this sorted out so I thought I’d document it here: Music Assistant supports grouping speakers so, briefly put what you’re doing here is just creating a group with two HomePods, one playing the left channel, the other the…sjwillis (Jim Willis)

We're grateful 🙏🏻 for each and every one of you who contributed to and supported us through 2024 - we've had too many milestones to name, it's been a busy year. 😌
Here's to 2025 - whatever it may bring! 🥂
I really like how easy it is to create a thermostat with home assistant!
I wanted to have a way to pre heat the bathroom for giving the baby a bath. The cheap 15€ space heater heats the room but the buildin thermostat was crappy. As I already had an air sensor in my bathroom, I just added a remote controlled wall socket plug I had laying around to the space heater. In home assistant you then can add a generic thermostat by selecting the sensor and the actor (wall plug).
I recently created a server stats dashboard in #HomeAssistant using linux2mqtt and documented it on my blog!

Bitboxer - Smart Heating with HomeAssistant
The dumb heating dial in our apartment needed a smart upgrade. Here is how I added it to my Home...bitboxer.de
I now changed 3 of these dumb thermostats to ZigBee enabled ones. Now I can set the temperature and program things like:
- heat the room for 2 hours, the floor keeps the room warm for the whole day.
- automatically only heat if the average daytime outside temperature is lower than 10 degrees
- move the valve once a week for a short period in summer so that they don’t get stuck and don’t work in winter
So many nice wins. Thanks #homeassistant
😍
I've been looking into tasks in #HomeAssistant. I wanted repeating tasks, so I opted for #Grocy. But I wasn't really happy with the existing card for the custom Grocy integration, so I build my own 😀
