Some people who want to leave #X wonder if #BlueSky is an alternative. 😕 In our petition, we advocate using the decentralized #Mastodon. We do not consider BlueSky to be a sustainable alternative because it is another commercial service that spies on user data to generate customized #advertising with it.
The BlueSky Terms of Service bsky.social/about/support/tos and Privacy Policy comprise 7100+ words 😡. Nobody reads this; this is not an “informed consent” as required by #GDPR. We see the #universities here as having a duty of care towards their students and employees, whom they must protect from such data collection. Mastodon and the other #Fediverse 🦩 services are much more suitable for university communication. BlueSky is just another data leech.
We fully agree, such a link list is not what we are working for. Since January, #Openpetition.de was frequently asked by us and our supporting organizations to add a link to Mastodon or another Fediverse service and skip X, but they did not follow our suggestion. Ich bin erst beunruhigt, wenn es heißt, chinesische Quantencomputer können übers Netzwerk in realistischen Zeiträumen etwas knacken wie AES256 oder SHA-512 in Kombination mit über 100 Bit Entropie. Also die Art Verschlüsselung, wo heutzutage ganze Cluster der besten Supercomputer länger brauchen würden, als das Universum alt ist, und zur Kühlung die Weltmeere verdampfen würden.

Louis Spohr (* 5. April 1784 in Braunschweig; † 22. Oktober 1859 in Cassel), auch Ludwig Spohr (Taufname Ludewig), war ein deutscher Komponist, Dirigent, Gesangspädagoge, Organisator von Musikfesten und ein Violinist von internationalem Ruf; neben dem Italiener Niccolò Paganini zählt er zu den größten Geigern seiner Zeit. Spohr war bereits zu Lebzeiten eine Berühmtheit und galt nach dem Tod von Carl Maria von Weber (1826) und Ludwig van Beethoven (1827) bis zum Durchbruch der Werke von Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy und Robert Schumann ab Mitte der 1840er Jahre als der bedeutendste lebende deutsche Komponist.
@Matthias Lustigerweise habe ich ihn vor knapp 20 Jahren über die einzige von ihm komponierte Klaviersonate entdeckt, da ich viel Klaviermusik höre. Erst dann habe ich mich mit seinen Sinfonien beschäftigt. Und ja, er ist tatsächlich eher in Kreisen von Hardcorefans klassischer Musik bekannt. Underrated.
