I used to do a lot of work in the US. We had excellent coverage, fortunately.
A co-worker had a heart incident in Apollo Beach Florida around 2007, and needed to go to the hospital. I dropped him off about 8am and picked him up around noon.
The bill came to $US12k, completely covered through the work policy. The itemized bill was astounding.
The Insurance company wanted to fly him back to Canada for treatment! The doc in Florida and his family doc in Canada both about had a conniption fit. The insurance company relented and he got diagnosed and treated in Florida.

But, even if *your* taxes went up, they wouldn’t go up as much as you’d get back in health care coverage. And it would have the added benefit of giving health care to *EVERYONE*.
Yet, many Americans I spoke to had no interest in having their “hard earned money” go to people who “don’t deserve it.”

Yep, I got the same response.... from my own MF cousins who live in NYC and voted for Mangoe Mussolini because 'he was happy his $$$ was doing great!' and he wasn't interested in paying for someone else's care....
