we already have phones like that: #fairphone
we always did have washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, vacuums like that: #miele
cars (a bit ago, but still): #toyota
yet we do not see those brands leading the sales. quality shows on the price tag, but not on the feature list.
we can switch to food, same thing there. Organically grown or "bio" in Germany is loved when asked, but later not picked.
I remember a survey in front of a german store, where people were asked to rank their priority for organic produce. It was above 90 % . Yet less than 20% of the items actually bought were organic.
so yeah, great idea, bad business.🥴

#iPhone Preise weiss ich nicht. Ich denke aber, das Umweltschonen schlaegt zu Prise Buche, oder anders gesagt, die Differenz raubt Apple von unserer Umwelt.
Ein #Fairphone 4 habe ich vor wenigen Monaten in der Schweiz fuer Fr. 200.- gekauft (neu) und /e/OS drauf. Bin gluecklich. Muss aber sagen, als Senior habe ich wenig Ansprueche von einem Smartphone.
Ich weiss nicht, warum es #Fairphone 6 sein muss. Vor wenigen Monaten habe ich ein Fairphone 4 gekauft und /e/OS installieren lassen. Bin sehr zufrieden.

Du kannst per ADB ein App-Daten-Backup machen, außerdem alle Daten aus dem Dateisystem einfach rüberkopieren.
Die Herausforderung entsteht vorwiegend beim wiedereinspielen.
Etwas mehr Aufwand und erfolgversprechender ist, die Daten aller wichtigen Apps mit ihren eigenen jeweiligen Backup/Restore-Funktionen zu übertragen.
Kalender und Kontakte ohnehin immer per @davx5app auf einem eigenen Account speichern, z.B. Nextcloud oder Posteo oder so

Nennenswerte Probleme hatte ich bisher nicht.
(Hatte FP1 und 2, e/OS auch probiert: Kaufe kein #fairphone mehr. Qualität und fehlende Langlebigkeit haben mich nicht überzeugt)
Magst du mal kurz ausführen was die Dinge waren die dich am Fairphone gestört haben? Werde noch nicht schlau daraus was dich stört.

I have a Fairphone 5 with eOS. One of my apps tells me that it needs to be updated to work. But when I click on "Update" it brings me to the lounge where the only option is to open (not update it).
Going straight to Lounge shows no update available for anything.
What should I do? 🙏

fellow #fairphone users:
since the last android update, my phone (FP4, Android v15) kinda regularly closes apps even when they're in use.
examples: music streaming, podcasts, etc, as well as Bluetooth connections.
no app timers are set up.
"manage app to save battery" is turned off for the affected apps.
has anyone run into similar issues?
if so, have you found a solution to keep this from happening?

J'ai commandé chez @murena hier et si le paiement est bien passé (compte débité) et à l'écran, il y a bien eu un message me disant "Commande reçue" avec un N° de commande, je n'ai reçu aucune confirmation par mail.
Si y'en a qui ont aussi commandé chez eux, vous confirmez avoir eu la même chose ?
Heureusement, j'ai fait une capture d'écran car sinon en dehors du débit bancaire, j'ai aucune trace de la commande et vu l'argent en jeu, c'est pas rassurant 😅
Von 5 fairphones sind jetzt 2 defekt. Support nur in Englisch, kein telefonischer Support. Wartezeit auf Antworten bei mir 2 Monate. Ein Freund hat das aktuelle Modell im Juli gekauft. Es ist immer noch defekt. Er hatte es insgesamt 14 Tage im Einsatz. Meines darf ich nicht bewegen, sonst bootet es neu.

Not an American but I proudly used my #Fairphone 3 (2019) until the Fairphone 6 released.
I'm hoping to hold onto it until at least the Fairphone 9 😀
I think it also makes me a better dev to not dev only on the newest and latest and fastest devices but actually make sure the app runs acceptably on slightly older devices too 😀
On that note, IzzyOnDroid and F-Droid have a lot of apps that work great on older devices, just a sideload away 😀 izzyondroid.org/

Ich habe ein blödes Problem mit #FairPhone 6 und /e/OS #Murena.
Nach einer gewissen Zeit (vielleicht 10 bis 15 Minuten) habe ich kein Internet mehr, obwohl alles in Ordnung ist. WLAN steht, Internet ist stabil. Das Gerät ist sogar im LAN/WLAN pingbar. Nur das FF zeigt das WLAN-Symbol mit ! an. Da hilft es nur, WLAN aus oder SSID trennen und direkt wieder zu verbinden. Nach einem ähnlichen Zeitraum das gleiche Spielchen von vorne.
Mit FF4/5 und #Android oder anderen WLAN-Geräten habe ich das nicht. Es scheint am ?DNS-Test? zu liegen, die Prüfung, ob das SmartPhone online ist. Aber auch das DNS ist in Ordnung?!
Was ist das für ein Problem? Das ist total nervig. Zumal ich keine Ressourcen im LAN (lokalen WLAN) erreichen und dann sogar auf mobile Daten umgeschaltet wird.
Kann mir jemensch noch einen Tipp geben?
