I'm a sucker for interesting bubble textures in ice. I was bummed I didn't get any of the epic formations out on the lake this season, but these from a marsh last week were pretty neat. I increased the contrast quite a bit to bring the textures out.

A quick pic from last Wednesday when it was warm and sunny. This is from Memorial Park in Willenhall. This was the park I first thought of when I heard park as a child. It used to have caged exotic birds and was a great place for tadpoles.
Things have changed including improving access to a bunch of woodland like where I took this #goldenhour #photograph suitable for #texturetuesday. A nice #naturetexture

The adjacent canal has lowered as the flow to the river has been increased recently (an adjustment to local Klamath dams to help prevent disease in the newly returned salmon). These root networks, branches, and stone along the canal all used to be completely submerged and unseeable beneath the murk, and only now have surfaced, eerie and white. #TextureTuesday

Some _very_ early algorithm concept/pre-viz sketches/explorations for the Tron Legacy (2010) intro sequence. They informed another concept/approach in which we applied a similar algorithm to progressively trace out edges of an initially invisible and super detailed 3D city mesh. This required a lot of effort to retopologize the (huge) geometry supplied and creating a multi-res navigation graph to prioritize long/major edges over shorter ones, filter out undesired edges/directions, thereby creating a visual reveal in which the agents progressed from tracing out super low-res boxes to high-res architectural features... Eventually, both of these prototypes weren't used though, and the director & team opted for a more stripped down solution with much fewer agents/traces, created in Houdini...

Went for a nice stroll today. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to between work and the weather. This was next to a small lake called Lake Frierson. I included the full shot because I really wanted to crop in for the #texture of the lichen around the shell but I think the background blur is nice on the full image.
