Something for my #TTRPG bubble - but not only the TTRPG bubble.

I'm the kind of person who really likes to have transcripts or summaries of TTRPG sessions, but also struggles with participating and taking notes at the same time.

LLM apps for creating automatic meeting transcripts looked really promising, but:

1. Are usually costly …
2. … create privacy concerns …
3. … and thorny ethics

That had me thinking.

At our #dnd session on friday, the Bard player showed up and let us know that he had put a file in our shared cloud folder for game resources.

It was a song he had written and recorded about our campain so far.

Im still beyond blown away that this silly little game I run for them has inspired someone to do something like that. Its awesome.

We keep prototyping our Forest in a Box and we’re now at stage 0.2. The first iteration felt much more like a contemplative object than an actual game, so we began adjusting the balance by removing some animals and introducing new elements with clearer play potential. Next, we’ll focus on defining the sizes and relationships between the pieces.

Our Forest in a Box keeps growing, slowly and quietly, with more life every day 🌲🍄

Today was the day small green creatures joined our Forest in a Box 🌳📦 It began as a calm, gentle project, but then #goblinweek happened and we couldn’t pass on the chance to introduce a little chaos into the forest. After all, where we live, you’re about as likely to find a goblin in the woods as you are a bear.

Giocate altre 2 scene, che mi hanno permesso di collaudare le regole per combattimento e interrogatori. Regole molto snelle come piace a me.
Fatto anche visita al buon vecchio Emil Runciter, personaggio del videogioco della Westwood Studios.
Nel complesso, del gioco in solitaria ero preoccupato dalla questione delle tabelle casuali che vanno interpretate tipo oracolo. Temevo ne venissero fuori elementi inutilizzabili per costruire una trama, e invece e' la cosa piu' divertente.

Prima scena dopo il briefing iniziale: interrogatorio di un testimone.
Alterno domande si/no che si risolvono con un D10 a domande open ended, che si risolvono con una cypher table. In pratica rollando D6 + D12 si ottengono due parole relative a "method" e "focus", che vanno interpretate tipo oroscopo per definire una risposta. Molto molto divertente.
La trama comincia a prendere forma.

I finished "The power behind the Throne", 3rd volume of the campaign "The enemy within" for the #warhammerFantasy #ttrpg 4th edition.
Well, that was a ride. It's definitely the best part of the campaign IF you like political intrigue (and I do). There are a LOT of npcs to keep track of. See below a handy graph provided by the sourcebook that shows the main npcs and their relationships.

My holiday read Is "Power behind the Throne", third volume of the campaign "The enemy within" for the #TTRPG #WarhammerFantasy
I'm about 1/3 through and it's probably the most pilitical intrigue-heavy scenario I've ever ready. Which is a very good thing.
Also, Middenheim is a very detailed background, a place that really comes alive (I'm curious about the dedicated espansion volume).

#QuestionOfTheDay what's a piece of media/fiction where when it was good it was So Good in a way that's hard to explain in retrospect to people who weren't experiencing it linearly because it never ended up fulfilling its promise. Not that it necessarily has to end up being bad but that it never reached or paid off that high again.

(Game of Thrones I imagine to a lot of people is one, as an example)

Estuve probando diferentes VTT (tableros virtuales) para partidas de rol de mesa con amigos y es una lástima ver el estado de la mayoría. No es de extrañar que sigan a flote opciones viejas de pago o con micropagos dado que la "mejor" idea que han tenido en la mayoría de las nuevas iniciativas es darles un diseño "puntero" que arruina la jugabilidad.
